Sew + Sew Studio — Local services in Philadelphia

What a special studio to have in the neighborhood! I took a one day workshop in a Korean technique called Pojagi, and had a blast. It was so nice to share space with other crafty people, because usually I’m at home sewing in solitude. It was very sweet and inspiring to see everyone’s process and ideas. Cat is a very skilled, friendly, and fun instructor. You really feel invited into her “home” and she creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere. It was such a treat to use some of her vintage sewing machines and get so many pointers about sewing in general. Highly recommend her classes for beginners and experienced sewists alike! I am so happy Sew + Sew opened, its everything i have been looking for! It is not easy to lay out and cut my pattern pieces in my little apartment and this studio has LONG waist high tables that made the process so easy and literally painless. They have a wide variety of machines for you to use whether you are a beginner sewist who is looking for a machine to borrow for hemming or a someone more advanced who wants to use the overlocker or cover stitch machines. I’d just like to take a moment to shoutout my friend, Cat Walshak, owner of Sew and Sew over here in Olde Kensington. She made my dream of turning my grandmother’s wedding dress (hand-made in 1944!!) into the most perfect top for my bridal shower.
