Ok. Changing my review back to 5 stars. So due to neighborhood development, the original location closed. This is a Senaglese restaurant. Original location was small , seating about 20pp and long wait , as food cooked to order. But awesome food, Top Notch. They moved to Baltimore ave and a tiny tiny spot. So review below was based on that experince of trying to support, rude person and due to wait/size of party went elsewhere. They are now on the direct corner of 44th and Chestnut, part of a full block of connected businesses, with some type of underground lot. I ordered take out for lunch. My biggest issue was finding a street parking space just to allow me to pick up. The spot is now huge, plenty of seating. My food was awesome. The customer service was good. Apparently they moved 4 months ago. I wasnt aware of the move so confused with uber eats address. So had called, left a message and they called me back to verify location.
Old: Customer service received at the counter was dismissive. It's a small establishment, 4 tables of 2 person seating. So be prepared to wait/ dont come with a large group. I and others enjoyed the food when it was at the old location. Hadn't yet been to the new location, but arrived recently with a group of 6. Myself and another went in to inquire when seating may be available for my party, as I could see 3 tables were occupied. The persons attitude was dismissive and condensending. To be responded to with a chuckle and told the existing seating wouldn't accommodate that size. Anyone can easily see that there were only 4 tables and we wouldn't all be able to sit together. I politely explained I could see the seating arrangments and understand that we couldn't sit together but could possibly all eat at the same time; is there an estimated wait time? I was told people are eating. I again asked if she could give an estimate as to when people may be done. Finally I was given an estimate. All I was trying to do was support your establishment. There wasn't enough space for us all to wait or come inside, so the rest were out in thr cold. The one person who came inside with me, also commented on the rudeness when we walked out. I felt that the back and forth to just get information and try to support didn't warrant the attitude. As it was, my party and I had purposely driven from the East Falls area and searched for parking to eat there. So after anticipating a good meal and searching for parking, that attitude didn't leave a...

From the moment you step into Kilimanjaro Restaurant, youâre transported into a vibrant celebration of African culture, flavor, and hospitality. The warm and inviting atmosphere, rich with authentic dĂŠcor and Afrobeat rhythms, sets the tone for a truly unforgettable dining experience.
But the real magic begins when the food arrives.
Every dish is a masterpiece â bold, flavorful, and deeply rooted in tradition. The jollof rice bursts with smoky, spiced perfection; the suya is grilled to tender, seasoned excellence; and the egusi soup carries the kind of depth that only comes from generations of passed-down recipes. Each bite speaks of heritage, passion, and a commitment to excellence.
The service is equally commendable. The staff treats you like family â attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to share the stories behind each meal. Whether youâre a first-time visitor or a seasoned lover of African cuisine, youâre welcomed with open arms and a genuine smile.
Kilimanjaro isnât just a restaurant â itâs a cultural experience. Itâs where food and tradition meet to nourish both body and soul. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic African cuisine, exceptional service, and a dining memory that will last long after the last bite.

Read moreBeen going to this place for years. Sometimes they disappoint and sometimes the food is awesome . I do think just as every where prices have gone up so to feed 3 in here can get pricey. I think thatâs okay however the chicken portions and lamb mafe etc have gotten smaller over the years and the prices higher for what what you receive and they mask it with lots of onions , none the less this place is a solid west Philly staple I love the fried rice and yassa dishes and the little beef patties with the pepper sauce are slamming when they arenât sold out . Also I see some reviews saying itâs not authentic do yall hear their accent when you go in there ? Africa is a continent with many different people , from Senegal to Liberia to Ghana each food is different in its own unique way so be respectful . On a respectful note you guys can afford to throw in a few more pieces of meat with each dish though . This place is probably one of the few african restaurant in the city that you can dine in without feeling too uncomfortable and like your on a border line date aside from prime fusion which has the ambiance but terrible food this place has the food ambiance not as fancy but you can pull off a little dinner date with...
