I'm leaving 5-stars even though - if was keeping it 100% - I would prob give them 4. I'm giving 5 to offset the negativity in these reviews. Its a little extra imho.
Yes, the Weave Bar is loud. The girls are loud, the music is loud. A bunch of them are clearly friends and it sounds a lot like girlfriends hanging out at a bbq. The way I see it, they are on their feet ALL DAY taking clients back to back to back non-stop. Let them have a little fun to get through the day. Pop in some headphones if its really that big a deal.
I'm removing a star because I'm confident that the one manager (the younger one) consistently has a crappy attitude, as many people here have noted. Last time I was there I was at the counter with money in my hand waiting to pay and she sat there with her head down, texting. I said excuse me (not rudely at all) and she clapped back "I'm waiting for the slip!". Ummm, ok... so ask my stylist for the slip instead of snapping attitude and blatantly ignoring my presence. You aren't doing ANYONE a favor by being here. Without customers you wouldn't have a job so don't act so burdened by that which you are being paid to do. She's young, and it takes time for folks to be real with themselves about what industries suit them. Based on mine and other people's experiences, perhaps customer service is just not a good fit for her. To the owners; when the face and first impression of a company is not warm, friendly or helpful... it makes it really hard to justify coming back and giving your hard earned money. Women go in to beautify and that not easy for everyone. Confidence is not equally distributed among us all, best to treat everyone like they need affirmation and love.
But in the end, the receptionist is not why you are there... its the stylists and affordable services offered, right?
Overall, the Weave Bar (gtown) markets themselves as a little more high end than they actually are, so just manage your expectations of what else you are going to get beside your hair done. I get my services by Natiesha and will wait patiently for her always. She does a great job, is very gentle with my baby soft hair and is very patient with me being particular about the look I'm going for. I'll maintain my patronage, but it would be refreshing to go in one day and feel welcomed and appreciated... not like I'm part of a conveyor belt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love supporting black owned businesses HOWEVER i will NOT be returning to the Germantown location. The location as a whole needs to work on customer service and ATTITUDES. It's not what YOU you say it's how you say it. In their cases it's BOTH. There is HUGE lack of professionalism. I'm young 23 to be exact and the level of childishness at this location is unbelievable.
I got my hair done on Friday 1/26/2018 I asked for all three packs to be put in my hair, an additional $20 is not a problem to me it's Pocket Change really. The stylist said she could not get all three bundles in my hair I believed her. When I got home I noticed how far apart my spaces were meaning my tracks were. I called and they were nice enought to tell me I could come in and get it fixed. When I arrive to the shop I was greeted buy a stylist who said "we're about to close". I thought that was rude. I proceeded to talk to the woman at the front desk who I later found out was the manager.
Long story short the customer service was disgusting both the manager and the stylist were so rude that I refused to get my hair fixed. When I asked the manager what her name was she told me "the manager" I replied "the manager?" And she said yes "the manager of Germantown". I then proceeded to let her know that she was not giving the best customer service and that I did notice that even when I came in on that Friday she was rude and not welcoming to customers. She continued to display attitude and asked me what was I talking about and I told her that her disposition as well as the employees was disrespectful and nasty. I also added that I was surprised to see that the North Philly location closed down because I never had a problem with their customer service ( keep in mind I'm saying this in a low voice so I DO NOT make a scene) I also told her she needs to get it together SHE the made a scene and threw her hands up in the air, walked away screaming oh no and ran into the bathroom. Manager who!? The supervisor should always lead by example I see why the stylus run amok. This...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually donāt write reviews, but Iām writing this one because we need to start keeping black businesses accountable so that they can do better. The service is great and I was very happy with my hair once I finally got in the chair. Margie is an excellent hairstylist and she has excellent customer service skills. My issues came before I got into the chair. My experience at the weave bar can only be described with one word: disorganized.
First of all, they have 2 locations listed on their website and Instagram page. Walk ins are supposed to run from 9am to 7pm on Thursdays.
I showed up at the West Philly location at exactly 9am, and there was no one there. After standing in the hot sun for 30 minutes, I called the number listed on their Instagram page and was told that they are no longer at the West Philly location. (So why is it still on your Instagram page and website?). Anyway, I found my way to the Germantown salon and arrived at 10am when I was told that I was the last person they would serve for the day because they only take 5 customers per walk-in day. All fine, but why not let people know explicitly that this is the case? A simple āwalk ins begin at 9am, but please arrive as early as possible or call ahead because we only take 5 customers per dayā would suffice! I watched them turn away so many customers between 10am and 4pm who walked in thinking they would be able to be served because they were misled by the website. My initial plan was to come in at 5pm on Thursday, and I would have wasted my time and money getting there.
I finally showed up, and much to my dismay, only ONE person was doing hair. I didnāt get into her chair until 3:30 a full five and a half hours after I arrived.
The store is nice and I was satisfied with my service but management needs to DO BETTER. Getting your hair done should not be a whole day affair. All this can be avoided with honest...
