BUYER BEWARE!!! Don’t be fooled by the razzle dazzle of Mr. Molina and his cheesy pin-stripped suits or the gaudy building that creates the illusion of a “fine jeweler.” Molina Fine Jewelers/Black Starr & Frost is run by a den of thieves.
My fiancé recently proposed to me what appeared to be a beautiful and expensive diamond ring. He was so excited to find me the perfect ring. I have been wearing this ring since the 4th of July 2021. It is obviously my most prized possession and has great sentimental value to both of us. Naturally, I was extremely careful about the ring and have been taking great care of it. I remove it when I’m showering, cooking, and working out. I work 8-5 at a desk job so no heavy machinery used. When my fiancé and I took in the ring back to Molina’s to get it re-sized he was taken aside and told the diamond was chipped along one of the edges. This happened after the ring was out of our sight and in their possession for over ten minutes. He was also asked to lie to me about the condition of the diamond and encouraged to call for an insurance claim. I was completely devastated with the news. When we had the chance to speak with Mr. Molina himself on one hand he kept explaining to me that diamonds can be chipped when the right force is applied to them and then contradicted that by saying he has never seen this happen to a diamond. I am certain that I don’t possess the ability to break diamonds or that I hit it against any surface. This just comes down to the quality of the diamond. If this can happen to such an expensive diamond after only wearing it for two weeks, we as users should have been warned about the “wear and tear” of such expensive diamonds before purchasing them. Molina’s refuses to take any ownership of the flawed diamond and continues to blame us for damaging it. We were told that our only options would be to reduce the size of diamond by cutting it further down in size. For a business who prides themselves for their exceptional quality I would expect them to take accountability of such a situation.
The only thing Molina’s has lived up to is making this experience horrific and “Unforgettable” for my...
Read moreMy son was very excited to pick out an engagement ring for his fiancé. He chose the Molina Fine Jewelers after looking at the website. His experience with the sales lady was very positive and he purchased a 1.75 carat diamond ring. He proposed and presented the ring to his fiancé over the 4th of July and we were all thrilled! Flash forward two weeks later they took the ring into Molina to be sized. They took the ring in back then after a while called my son back to inform him the ring was badly cracked. He was stunned since his fiancé has taken exquisite care of the ring. My son was shown a now visible crack. This was not the perfect diamond they brought in. They would not give a refund as they blamed his fiancé for damaging the diamond. The saleswoman told my son to keep it from his fiancé that it was cracked and to turn in a claim to his insurance company. I suspect the diamond was cracked by their jeweler during the sizing process and they are trying to cover their tracks and pawn off a damaged ring to this young couple. It is shocking that their website proclaims “Our commitment to our clients transcends jewelry to ensure we exceed expectations in every moment” yet they treated our son in such a self serving and disrespectful manner. Lastly, my son’s fiancé is an immigrant from India and was blamed for the damage and treated disrespectfully by Mr. Molina. I have had my diamond wedding set for over 40 years and I have never experienced a jeweler acting in such an unethical manner.
My son was there for 2 hours, they won’t give any refund. The best they could come up with was to cut the ring down in size 20%. No mention of how much they would charge when it wasn’t even...
Read moreThey have a good collection and variety of gemstones. However their prices are extravagant and way overpriced than the normal market. Don’t get deceived by how good they make it look and how much details and appraisal they give on their pieces. But you can literally get half of their prices with the same quality gems outside of this store. The sales lady there was not willing to answer me about how much the gemstone is worth in the market even though she is saying she has 13 years experience. I don’t see how with 13 years experience she still can’t give me an answer with a price range. She always kept moving around my question without answering it even though I had to repeat it multiple times. Untill I got the gesture that she don’t want to say. And it’s most probably because they’re overpricing it. I don’t mind them profiting that’s how business work and I told her I just want the market price for it. But never gotten an answer. I had the gemstone details taken to another gem expert and realized that they’re pricing it on more than double the price . So if you’re thinking that you’re not an expert on gems and this store will be a good place to get some advice and buy one. Then you’re not at the right place. They will try to oversell you and make it look as if it’s a gem from heaven. And will never answer you’re questions on the pricing directly
FYI regarding you’re answer of a jeweler can’t give a price based on verbal. I explained everything and I took the gemstone details and a picture of it it’s...
