Our son was graduating this week from Arizona State University and we needed to find a place for his post dinner celebration. Middle of the week was tough, with most restaurants close at 9:00 PM. We are were coming from San Diego and had another child in the middle of the CIF Golf Playoffs in San Diego, so we had to plan this dinner at the last minute.
The closing time and distance from the graduation was important, since the graduation started at 7:00 PM. We had been to Bobby Q at another location, but thought it was too far. We then found out that they had a new Biltmore location. We phoned the restaurant, explained our situation that we may be running late based on the graduation, they said no problem. My wife was so happy, since she loved the other location of Bobby Q. We reserved seats for 17 people.
Graduation came, and then it was 8:30 and still going. It went to about 8:45 PM. We still needed to get out of the arena, locate our son, take a few photos and still be a the restaurant by 9 ish. We phoned the restaurant to let them know that we were running behind. The female on the phone, said no worries "don't stress out" and that they were waiting on us. Most of the party arrived on time, we arrived around 9:25 PM. We we sat down and enjoyed the most wonderful BBQ dinner we have ever had. As always, the food was incredible. My wife had the pulled pork, and I always have the Yardbird. They made us feel like royalty, they had two or three people waiting on us and made our son feel special. I have just received three or four calls from people that were there saying how much they enjoyed the food and not once did they feel rushed.
Because of Bobby Q in Biltmore, our son's Graduation party was a success. We believe in loyalty, and this is our new location that we will be going to from now on. Our son is staying in Phoenix, so we will get a chance to visit every couple of months. Thank You to all of the employees (servers and cooks) and the manager for making our dinner a...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had an experience at this restaurant that was weirdly upsetting and encouraging at the same time. We dine at Bobby Q Biltmore often as both the food and service are usually very good. We went in for an early dinner today and decided to sit in the bar area as very few people were in the restaurant. We tend to be pretty easy going people, but the long and the short of the story is that a fellow patron must have mistakenly believed that we (and everyone in the establishment for that matter) were interested in hearing the "blow by blow" account of his recent 2nd DUI and sentencing details. We tried hard to tune it out, but when the conversation (with no one by the way) turned to his opinions about how women "want and need to be treated" (in excruciating detail) and what he thought about certain female staff members (I am sure you get it), we quietly requested the check and left. What came next was unexpected and AMAZING - two managers noticed that we had left before eating and chased us down in the parking lot, asked what had happened, and apologized profusely. We told them that we completely understood, that it was no fault of theirs or the restaurant, and things like that happen sometimes - we would come back again on another day. They were so upset that one of them ran back inside (while we were still talking to the other) and ran back out and insisted that we accept a $50 gift certificate. While Bobby Q's has good food and a nice atmosphere, what sets it apart is that they hire and retain outstanding and kind people that work hard at making people feel appreciated and cared for. Bravo to those two incredible ladies - it would have been much easier for them (to do like most would have) and just have blown it off. Thank you sincerely to the staff at Bobby Q's for doing a great job and for caring about what you do. We support you and hope others will too. Thank you again - and we look forward to seeing...
Read moreAside from driving far because the 27th Ave location was closed without an announcement, getting seated side-by-side across from the loud bar where an actively barking dog in addition to the first dog who left earlier (youd think it was the zoo) without asking my permission, pouring the "sweet" sauce over the brisket, the bar waitress refused me to sit outside in the patio citing "she does not open it during summers cause it's too hot" (never mind the misters" then after a few minutes I looked up and two separate tables were packed or on the patio. Why lie to a customer with a showing when after your other location was closed (I came from Scottsdale to 27th location to your location) just because the customer is single and you feel is not worth the respect that you'd give a couple or a full size family. I still tipped very generously because I expect that I will pay a full price and not the rushing to get me out of there price. And what's with the cheap skate attitude about your cornbread? I was told it's all you can eat but they brought out just that ONE piece. If you can't afford to feed your guests your signature item, perhaps you should take it off your menu. Next time try to pay attention to single guests walking into your restaurant. We're people with money looking to enjoy our dining experience. Good luck to you and your...
