Northgate González Market — Local services in Pico Rivera

I’ve been coming to this Northgate since it’s original location on Telegraph and Cord. After all the changes, there is one change that I cannot tolerate. What happened to the cochinitos pan dulce?? This was the only place in Southern California that made them the right way. Some time within the last 2 to 5 months, the recipe changed for the worse!! Did they change panadero??? I’m willing to pay the ridiculous high price for the original recipe, but hell no for the new recipe of the cochinitos pan dulce!! They’re also making them smaller now!?!?!!

Update: I went to try the cochinitos one more time and thank God, the original flavor is back!! Please don’t mess with this recipe or let an inexperienced panadero experiment with...

The store inside is nice, organized, clean and pleasant, with everything u need if u forget something at your regular grocery store. Living around the corner, walking distance is really nice! The cashier wasn't pleasant and didn't speak to me like she spoke to the customer in front of me? She was somewhat rude. Why? I only came to shop like everyone else to pick up a few items so I don't understand. It's enough going on in the world already that we as people are dealing with day to day, along with the weight of the pandemic. So to go to the grocery store and be treated in a not so nice manner...

I have been shopping at this place for years. I have noticed the prices are always high. But the other night I did my purchases and asked the cashier if I can please get like $2 in quarters and was told they can't help me with that anymore. (first time I have asked) So I went to the help desk just incase there was a misunderstanding and again I was told the same thing. I have never been treated like this anywhere.
