Tamales Guadalajara — Restaurant in Downey

Ordered chorizo con juevo plate. Nothing special no reason to go there for for good chorizo. Ordered tamale plate. Tamales overcooked, dry and hard. Obviously left steaming for more than 50 minutes, more like hour and a half to 2 hours. And when you do that you get a dry hard tamale. And easy fix. Just don't cook them that long. And don't bother calling in an order, The order line and pick-up line are the same. So you're told to wait in line to pick them up an order that you called in. Living in Downey is awesome!!! I no longer have to drive all the way to Boyle Heights or East L.A. for tamales,. We have an awesome place here in Downey with Tamales Guadalajara!!! The Tamales are delicious! They have them all. Green Chile, Red Chile, beef, pork, chicken, sweet and corn tamales. The best part of it all is that this place is also a delicious restaurant with very delicious food from Mexico. The owners are fantastic people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The tamales are salty and dry. I had high expectations because they are from Guadalajara and the food there is delicious. Unfortunately, dining in is even more disappointing. The coctel de camaron has shrimps smaller than the ones that cup-o-noodle has and they only give you four pieces. Seriously! And the burritos are small and salty as well compared to the photo the menu shows you. The food is also overpriced. I paid over $40 for two plates! Way too expensive. Would not recommend if you are...
