Superior Grocers — Local services in Pico Rivera

My rating is for the kitchen & Bakery section. In the past 3 years, I've had the worst experience buying in this area of the market. They have horrible customer service that takes for ever. My first bad experience was buying a cake that I was fooled that it was 3-leches, it wasn't, & the girl was rude when i finally called her attention because I kept getting ignored by all of them. I didn't return for 1 year, & mind you, I only live 2 blocks away. The second & 3rd time, 6 months apart from eachother, again, the same bad customer service. No one was attentive, I had to finally call out one of the ladies passing by. 1 more year without returning, due to continued bad service. Last time I returned, was last week. I picked 4 tamales since it's self serve. Then bought 2 large pieces of chicharon, & some cartnitas to cook at home with chile verde & beans. The tamales suck, not maza used, it is very porous & falls in smaller pieces when you lift it to your mouth to eat, even with a fork. Customer service is horrible as usual, took forever. The worst part of the experience, the lady charged me for someone else's menudo, or whatever the heck it was. I gave her a $100 bill then after noticed her mistake, told her to cancel the sale. And since I didn't take back any change, I just wanted my $100 back, & to be charged again. She needed help to cancel the order, which wasted more time for the manager to get there. Manager finally canceled the food that wasn't mines, reimburse me the change over my actual charge, but now he was short changing me so I didn't touch the money he was returning to me. I said cancel the whole damn order and charge me again from scratch. He did, & 1 hour later from my arrival to simply buy 3 different items, was finally over. I will NEVER return to buy at the cake & kitchen section of the market. 4 or 5 different experiences back to back from each other was enough. I gave them too many chances. Buying my regular groceries at the market has never been a bad experience. But I only buy here once in a while. I simply have a preference for another market. But for ready to eat food prepared, I'll simply drive down Passons & Washington to buy there. Or to a market on Beverly Bl. &...

my mom had her ebt skimmed in ceres, ca at bank of America. Someone at superior grocers in pico river withdrew cash benefits in the amount of 713.90. my hunch/guess is someone affiliated in employmemt or ownership at superior grocers, is the one responsible for withdrawing the cash and purchasied food delivery from walmart, then the store is reselling it at the store. just an off the wall assumption but no proof yet to back it up. This rating is based on mostly the bakery section of the store but as a whole unit as well. First the bakery, do not believe anything the staff tells you in regards to your pre-ordered item will be ready at a certain time. Especially Maribel. When I ordered the nice lady who took my order verified with her that the cake would be ready. On the day I go pick it up, the lady making the cake had just started to put it together. Sad, because the nice lady who took my order said she asked the bakery lead (Maribel) that it should have been done and was shrugged off by her. So when I spoke to her (Maribel), she said "I told her to make it an hour ago". Pure lies!!! If she would have told her to do it, it would have gotten done. If I could give a negative rating I would but for the nice lady who took my order was awesome. As for the manager that took 15 minutes to get to the bakery and say he could not do anything about Maribel's screw up, SAD! Overall most employees are nice but some have no idea what they are doing in the store. Bottom line go to a Mom and Pop bakery...
