A great place to get delicious artisanal chocolate in the Florida Mall! The company was founded in 1962 in Glarus by R Laderach, and as of 2020 boasts 100 stores in 35 countries. The founder applied and received a patent for the process of manufacturing hollow, ready-made chocolate truffles. This process revolutionized the fine chocolate industry. There are 2 stores in the Orlando, Florida area and this is one of them. It is located in the Florida mall in a corner store as you are walking toward the dining area. Their stock consists of sheets of various types of chocolate with a variety of items in them (like hazelnuts). You choose what you would like and the amount you would like and they will give you a price for it. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. One of them saw me looking at the display case and offered me a sample of hazelnuts covered in chocolate. It was absolutely delicious. I liked it so much that I bought a large piece to go. The price was reasonable for the quality of the chocolate. The store is not very large but it is well designed and clean. The vegan chocolate is AMAZING! The regular chocolate i cant speak on but the manager that works there OMG… HORRIBLE! Thats why i rated them a 3. I’ve been to 2 different laderachs and the florida mall location has to my worst experience. The woman acted very rude to me and my boyfriend and we were actually planning on shopping! Laderach is big on customers trying the chocolate at least at the 2 other locations (dadeland & millenia mall) they let me try different dark chocolate’s and created a nice goodie bag for me ! At the florida mall the manager cut up milk chocolate pieces then when i told her i was vegan she used the same gloves she used for the milk chocolate to break my dark chocolate. Not ok. I went to the Florida Mall location looking for a specific flavor for a gift. I had never been and was unfamiliar with the brand. Keith and Samantha were amazingly warm and welcoming. I showed them a picture of what I was looking for and immediately went above and beyond explaining purchasing options of buying it by weight and wrapped in cellophane or in a box of a full sheet. I purchased the full sheet as it was for a valentines day gift and they packaged it professionally. After I made my decision they offered me samples of their chocolates and the raspberry and salted caramel were divine!! Keith even went to look for a heart themed bag in their stockroom as Samantha beautifully tied a bow around the box. 100% satisfied with their guest service and plan to return!
