Well, I have shopped at this location multiple times. And the location is fairly easy to access from 66th street or from the neighborhood behind. The parking lot is decent and the store superficially is clean to the naked eye. But, even though it is cheap cheap. There are some things among the management and worker mentality, and the store it self that leave much to be desired. First the store. The store it self initially seems fairly clean, and full. But as you make your way through your shopping trip multiple occasions, you begin to notice various things. You begin to encounter the fact that management is not very good at holding enough stock in sales, on the shelf or in the back storage room. They nearly always don't have everything listed in there local add or for sale items. And that's not a very big add. At All. At least I don't think 2-3 pages is? Is It? Then as you shop that very limited dairy you usually notice they are out of some part of the selection of Juice like a variation of orange juice or a juice blend. The butter is usually missing at least one of the five variations of butter and one or more of the cases of hot dogs variations is missing constantly. As you attempt to select bacon or roll sausage it's rare that there both actually there, and If you want both bacon and sausage usually your screwed, both are almost never there. At this point after scanning some dairy and meat doors in the cooler section, you begin to notice open packs of dogs & food molded ones even, laying on & under the bottom grates. And unmarked sales and some missing tags usually, if you pay attention. And the grates seem to never be pulled and cleaned with grease lightning or bleach ever, because they are mildewed and stained with food leavins set on to metal. The meat case never has T-Bone Steaks like are listed in the local add. And the meat selection is enough to make you want to become vegetarian, after you end up with the same cuts every week for months. Barfaroni! 99% of the food selection in this store and other smalldi stores are from Yankee Illinois, the king of food additives and generic food supply. So don't expect fresh collards, and cornbread muffins, this is the bare bones way of Yankee eating. Most of the food also has a TON of sodium and FAT! Probably the reason northerners are so much fatter and there men are more breasted, on average then southerners. Bagged 2.5 lbs Leg quarters commonly go through spurts where there out on the shelf for even weeks at a time. And much like any other question you will ask the associates. If you ask them to look in the back for more leg quarters they will say it's not on the shelf we don't have it. Shrug there shoulders and say sorry, and just walk away not taking note or anything, like they don't really care. Or care to go through whats in the back to find your item. Sometimes the coolers also smell like mold which is a sign that the coolers and freezers may not be regularly cleaned and the engines are not serviced regularly or turned off and cleaned regularly. In produce they always nearly have green bananas which have no nutritional value at the green stage of ripeness, and are pure starch. Onions on deals like .99 cents a bag like there red onion sale have mold all over them, you have to dig through 100 lbs literally to find a non molded bag. customers also pick grapes and fondle a lot of produce till it has bruises and the associates don't pull it, they just leave it to be bought. The dog food I wouldn't feed a starving Hathaway. And when you get to the register they are so production orientated they bang your food up sometimes and don't make any really great customer service effort. They don't ask you if you found everything, and are just in a rush to get you out of line. The customers pick up on this and ride butts in line also. One of the last things I can think of is they have a tendency to stock off of electric pallet jacks and walk away with keys in them. Which is very dangerous during business operation. By O.S.H.A. Read moreI really like all of the Aldi stores.
I have written great reviews about this store before, but now it is getting even better! This store location is now being expanded approximately a whopping 30%! I can't wait to see how much more they will be able to offer when the new construction is complete!
I really enjoy shopping here. The prices are the lowest that you will find, and the produce is super fresh and most is "organic". Checkout lines move quickly, and there is abundant parking, so quick visits are a breeze.
3/6/2022 Update: I still love this store just as much as ever! Apparently, everyone else does too. Arrive early to avoid heavy crowds of customers. Some food items do sell out.
10/23/2022 Update: This store had everything on my shopping list. The shopping carts are clean, and the checkout line was short. I recommend shopping early, because this store does get very busy in the afternoons.
12/10/2023 Update: I still love Aldi! It's the holiday season, and the store is busy as ever this time of year. There are lots of seasonal "Special Buys" and they are delicious! This store now has only one human cashier, but there are five self-checkout lines, and they all move very fast. The shopping carts are still in very good condition, and they roll straight and smoothly. The parking lot is spacious, and is always kept clean. The store is always well stocked, but new products are brought in each Wednesday. Get there early for limited-time products, before they sell out. The more you shop at Aldi, the more you...
Read moreIt seems like the recent remodel is affecting the way ALDI treats its loyal customers that have been shopping there since the store opened and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars each year! And what happened with the friendly and helpful employees? I went there to buy some groceries second time this week and I normally fill up my cart pretty good...a rarely pay less than $100 at the register. I grabbed some "Friendly Farms" Low Fat Greek Yogurt which was advertised with a blue price tag of 59 cents. When I went to pay at the register the system charged 79 cents. Never tried that yogurt before but I figured for 59 cents I can toss it if not any good. I questioned the price and the cashier sent someone to verify the price. The price was marked wrong but they would NOT honor the advertised price and both employee and manager Alex argued with me over 80 cents ( 4 yogurts )...what a SHAME! I have never had anything like this happen at any other store in my life, and there are many other choices within a mile or two - Walmart, Publix, Save-a-lot, even Winn-dixie. ALDI used to honor prices and mistakes like that...They used to advertise it as "Double Guarantee" or something.....I guess NOT anymore and they rather argue and sent unhappy customers home then pay the 80 cent difference! Selling "Friendly Farms" but NOT SO FRIENDLY...
