Phil's Hobby Shop Inc — Local services in Pinellas Park

Been going here since it has opened in the mid-eighties. I have received nothing but help and friendship from Phil, Brian, and Kirk plus the other employees over the years. The negative reviews are in my opinion ridiculous are more than likely from people that have been participation trophy recipients. This is a creative hobby where you have to build and fabricate and sometimes work outside the box. Some people have the skills, and some do not. I guarantee every one of the negative reviews on this format came from a person that bought an out of the box, ready to run vehicle and got angry when they broke it and could not figure out how to fix it and then expected someone else to make it right, getting angrier when someone would not fix it for them. JMO but true hobbyists know I am right on the money with these comments. Enough with that, this place has bent over backwards for me more times than I can remember to get what I needed and help me out. If you need something hobby related, be it r/c, model, rockets etc. etc. This is the place to go. You give respect, you get respect, some people get it twisted and have unreal expectations, they are here to help you with your issues, not serve you like some robot. This place has been a fixture in this community for over 35 years, there is a reason for that ..... Nothing but respect and loyalty for this hobby...

I went in looking for a good quality r/c boat, drone, or airplane for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas. I have to admit that this is one of the best toy stores in the Tampa bay area. The prices seemed pretty fair as most items appeared to be from $100 to $1000 for some pretty cool toys. I actually usually just buy things online anymore as going to stores is such a hassle and the markups get a little ridiculous. I truthfully tried to order 1 drone and two boats on eBay first and all three turned out to be out of stock (after shipped with tracking number, and one completely destroyed upon arrival from china). This store however appears to be very competitive and you can actually see the item and get real advice. The best part is you ACTUALLY GET THE ITEM RIGHT THEN. Truthfully all 3 guys working that day were very helpful to me and I couldn't have asked for better or...

Phil's really is the best hobby shop in the county hands down! I recently went to a different hobby store (HTUSA) and didn't necessarily have a bad experience there but it sure wasn't on par with Phil's and sure didn't make me feel confident in there work or knowledge. After walking around HTUSA for 20 mins I was greeted by a kid that couldn't have had more then 18 years of age under his belt let alone the experience needed to give me correct info on some of the more in depth RC questions I asked. At Phil's the employees have 30+ years of experience in RC and can discuss anything from Cars, planes, boats, quadrcopters ETC. I only went to HTUSA because I was in the neighborhood, I wont make that mistake again! I greatly appreciate Phil's now and realize how easy they make getting correct parts and info look. I will not waste my time or money...
