What an absolute disappointment this place was. I followed this place opening up for almost a year and a half now thinking this would be THE place to get unique Asian groceries, but nothing here was extraordinary and the selections were subpar, and much more expensive, I guess go figure with the neighborhood.
The atmosphere was also terrible, I cannot believe the kind of garbage music they're playing here, Eminem's Lose Yourself?? Dolly Parton's Working 9 to 5???? and like BLASTING. Nothing against Em or Dolly, but what an absolute crappy ambience of an Asian store, decided to put on headphones and listened to actual Asian music, unreal!
The aisles were crazy narrow, The produce department's bins were half empty, the seafood department was tiny and unimpressive. A huge portion of items had no price tag at all! Lots of American items which I guess sure but...come on?
The most impressive thing they had was Xingu beer which you cant find anywhere, but that's a Brazilian beer!
Paid $5 bucks for a small barely filled bulgogi onigiri, left and went to Many More.
Suuuuuuuuper...
Read moreAwful. We plan a special trip to come here with high anticipation and hope that Pittsburgh has finally open up a nice, clean, and organized Asian grocery store like other metropolitan cities. My husband and I knew going in that they are still in their “soft opening “ stages so we didn’t expect all their inventories to be up/stocked. Prices are higher than the surrounding Asian market and produces were starting to look past their prime ( disappointing since they are newly open). Cashier needs more training in my opinion since they weren’t too friendly. And what always pissed any groceries consumers are the way they pack your groceries… PLEASE DO NOT OVER PACKED AND PLEASE DO NOT PUT FROZEN ITEMS IN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR PAPER BAGS SO THEY CAN MELT AND RIP MY BAG OPEN AS IM CARRYING IT INTO MY HOUSE WITH MY OVER PRICED ITEMS SPILLING OUT ALL OVER THE GROUND!! For all Asian moms/aunties/ grandmas that actually cook for our families and not just shop for snacks, do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time...
Read moreI was so excited to visit this market, everything I saw was incredible! The selection was vibrant, authentic, and exactly what I’ve been needing, especially as someone diving deep into Thai cuisine lately. And the best part? It’s walking distance from my home, which made me even more stoked.
That said, I did want to share a more personal experience. As someone who is neurodivergent and a trauma survivor, I'm very sensitive to my environment. I was followed or closely watched by several employees while browsing, which made me feel uncomfortable and a bit on edge. I understand that staff presence can be part of customer service or security, but the level of monitoring felt excessive and hard to ignore.
I still want to support this business, and I plan to return because the product selection was genuinely impressive. I’m just hoping that in the future, there can be a more welcoming, trust-based atmosphere for all customers, especially those who might interact with the world a little...
