Trader Electronics — Local services in Pittsburgh

I cannot believe the complete dismissal I just received here! This is NO LONGER A PLACE TO SELL, I REPEAT THEY DO NOT BUY ANY ELECTRONICS, CELL PHONES, EARBUDS, BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS, LAPTOPS, GARMINS, TABLETS, TVs ETC! And I’m talking about items in pristine condition mostly still in their boxes barely used if at all! Was told to go down to NINJA down the street so hopefully that’ll go well. Didn’t even have the chance to ask if they’d be interested in some antique gold watches by Hamilton Gruen and Benrus, a Rolex Daytona or handful of D&G, Invicta, Zodiac, Cartier, Baume&Mercier and various other watches in my collection. Also have a lockbox of fine .9999 silver collectible coins and other bullion. But was definitely spoken to in a completely unwelcome dismissive way and then interrupted and spoken over to another customer and ignored. To be specific it was a woman that was called over to treat me this way, Meghan or Melissa perhaps. Either way I came in based on the rave reviews about fair offers and pricing and amazing customer service so was excited and looking forward to it. And hate to be it but am rather desperate as my home has just been foreclosed on and this was definitely NOT at all what I was hoping for or expecting! Was my first time in there and will most definitely be my last as well. Was told that they get everything from whole-sellers for ridiculously cheap, which could very well be true and is completely acceptable and a perfectly fine way of doing business. If that’s the case though they need to change all their advertising to being a discount electronics store NOT a buy sell or trade business. Was told that the only thing that they are buying right now is game systems so I guess if you have one of those hurry on down if you have absolutely anything else go to Ninja as she suggested in a not so friendly tone. Oh and the name changed to BoxIt or...

I purchased a very nice computer for an extremely reasonable price. Durrell asked me some questions to understand what I needed, and he was extremely patient with me in explaining about all the different processors, brands, and quality comparison from one brand to another. I know nothing about buying computers, so this was very helpful for me in choosing one that met my needs.  He found one in the store's inventory that matched what I was looking for, and he even helped me get it set up.  Awesome customer service, a great computer, and an amazing deal.  I have a coworker who's also looking for a home computer, and I told him he should go to Trader...

I walked into the store looking for a piano keyboard. I asked the man at the counter (apparently the owner) if he had any keyboards for sale and he said "we might, what are you looking to use it for?"..... I was dumbfounded he asked that question haha. So he proceeds to go to the back storage area and brings out a keyboard. Right as we were beginning to discuss a price, the phone rings, he rudely just picks it up and answers it without saying excise me, so I walked out of the store. Apparently his phone call was more important than my business with him. There were several other employees that could have answered the phone btw. Never going back...
