Warranty and lack of ownership....I bought an engine based on a recommendation from my mechanic. I thought with a warranty they must test what they sell. The results were costly and horrible. The engine smoked and leaked oil. Was also louder the more I drove it. I drove it for 300 miles and just got worse. When I addressed the issue and asked about the warranty,I was treated poorly and as if I was stupid. Very rude with the attitude, "what do you want me to do about it"? As the customer, I made suggestions but was give the run around for 2 weeks. Finally, I suggested that they buy my car since their engine was in the car and I was not going to pay to take it out so I could meet their warranty. Finally, that worked and I settled for less than the car was worth but had to cut my losses. I would not buy anything from them as they cannot be trusted. Before I bought the engine I asked if I could see the car or the engine before buying and they immediately said "no"! I should have followed my instincts. Buyer beware. I should have gone to Capitol Auto Salvage, seemed much more professional.
RESPONSE to ownership: first, Frank was help, so thanks. Your comment that I refused resolution is not accurate. I was not going to spend another $1000 to remove the engine that I was told was good and tested but smoked and leaked 2.5 quarts within the first 200 miles of driving. I was told and Andy argued with me that as long as the engined was not smoking I did not know what I was talking about as if I were an idiot. And he offered no good solutions but would look for another engine after I give him the engine in the car now, really???? I had to come up with a solution for us both not to lose money..... New parts installed on my car recently would net you folks thousands and I lost money and trust. You could have tried to fix the engine you sold me but NO OFFER was made. I miss my car and really disappointing after my mechanic recommended your store. If you still have the car and fix the engine, I will buy it back at same sale price and provide a favorable review. In the meantime,...
Read moreThis is a update on this review I made about Deer foot auto. I was unhappy with the service that I received. I received a call about my part, which was ready for pickup. A call that I missed, and apparently a message was left stating they didn't have the more important of the two parts that I need. I returned the call and spoke to someone who told me to come pick up my order. I really needed the part ASAP, so I drove 30 minutes through a storm to pick it up. Me being from another state it was tough for me to find this place, but I did. When I walked in I was greeted, and I told the clerk my name. He immediately asked if I got his message. I said "no, I don't usually check my messages" . He explained to me that he left a message stating the more important part was unavailable because it was broken, which is understandable. What confused me was the fact that I spoke to someone on the phone before I left to go get the parts, and he said nothing about the missing part. I kept my cool even though I felt very underappreciated and purchased the other part. After leaving I left this rating that you see. Mainly because of the inconvenience that was caused by lack of communication between the workers there, and the unempathetic way the clerk handled the rest of the transaction. What prompted me to edit this post and explain why they received a low rating was the strange call I received when I got back home. It was the clerk. He wanted me to explain myself, and the reason I gave him the rating I did. Eventhough as a customer I have the right to leave any fair rating I deem necessary for my experiences at establishments. After reluctantly explaining why they received the rating they did, he was still unhappy and rudely hung up mid conversation. I laughed and decided to do this update to the post. Due to my experience at this place, I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND NOT USING DEERFOOT AUTO! If you do, I hope your experiences is better than mine. I'm sure this post will prompt another hostile phone call from the store. If it does, I'll update you...
