1 star is for the guy who works at the front has bad service! Most importantly 5stars for the personal trainer he is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional he is the best !!! I recently visited a gym to sign up for a promotion and brought my parents along to experience the facility. They had never been to a gym before. The representative who signed me up was pleasant and reviewed the contract with me. He also offered me a $10 kickoff deal for a personal trainer and was understanding when I mentioned that I didn't intend to purchase additional sessions after the trial. Before leaving, I received some passes that I thought I could use for my dad over the next five days, as I could bring my mom for free. My goal was to have them try out the gym for a few days before deciding whether to sign up for a membership.
The following day, I took my parents to the gym and used one pass for my dad. The staff asked me to provide their information so that it would be in the system for future visits. (Never mentioned free pass policy )Both of my parents enjoyed the workout, and I mentioned that we could return the next day to try out the afternoon session and determine whether they preferred working out in the evening or afternoon.
I was pleased to see my 70-year-old parents willing to return to the gym. However, when we arrived today, the staff informed me that the pass was only valid for one use per person per day. I explained that I was not aware of this policy and had not been informed about it. The staff member stated that it was the gym's policy and that my dad would need to pay $15 for a day pass or enroll in a membership. I expressed my disappointment and mentioned that other gyms, such as 24 Hour Fitness, offer seven-day passes. I asked the staff member if he was telling me that my dad couldn't enter the gym without paying $15 or enrolling in a membership, and he insisted either way “pay”
I requested a refund for my $10 kickoff training, but he stated that it was not possible. I then asked to cancel my membership, and he informed me that I would need to commit to 90 days before cancellation. I became upset and asked why he couldn't make an exception, as it was only a day pass. I mentioned that I had been willing to sign up my parents for a membership after their positive experience, but the staff member's response had changed my mind.
He eventually offered to make an exception, but I declined, stating that he had ruined my day and I no longer felt like working out. He claimed that he had made an exception for me, but I pointed out that he should have offered it from the beginning instead of arguing with me. I have to tell him to make exception
I ultimately gave him the pass and went to meet my trainer. I was disappointed with the staff member's lack of customer service skills and his inability to handle the situation effectively. His unwillingness to make an exception and his argumentative demeanor led me to decide that I would cancel my membership after 90 days and take my parents to a different gym.
The staff member in question was tall, skinny, and had black hair and a mustache. I will avoid interacting with him in the future.
PS: It is not merely about the $15, nor is it about reluctance to pay. Rather, it concerns his attitude and ability to manage the situation, which was far from pleasant.
I created a TikTok video for my parent workout and posted it on Facebook, but guess what, if anyone inquires about the gym, I will advise them against visiting...
Read moreI can honestly say, this is the worst gym I have ever seen. However, I want to make clear the in-store staff have been great. They are professional, courteous, and extremely friendly. The gym, unfortunately, is the “Wal-mart” of gyms, very low quality. The parent company is extremely dishonest and pushes very aggressive, deceptive, dishonest marketing. The equipment is all brand new but not the newest tech. It is new, low quality, outdated equipment. Sauna is very small (6 adults max). They have a group fitness class “The Hit Zone”. It is separated from the gym floor by a ribbon, not a wall. When the class is in session the music is ridiculously loud and the instructor must scream into a microphone. Even with high quality noise canceling headphones it is impossible for you to listen to your play list while you work out. The class usually has around a dozen people so they ruin the experience for 90% of the customers (those on the gym floor) so the instructor can scream at 10%. Everything in the “Recovery zone” is cheap trash. The HydroMassage, massage, and cold recovery chairs are low quality massage chairs you can find in any nail salon. The Guest Privileges come with the catch your guest must be accompanied by an instructor. This means every time they come to the gym, they must sit through an hour marketing session. EVERY TIME. Membership is misleading. In addition to the membership fee, they have a processing fee. I asked about this and was told it’s to recover the charge credit cards charge the gym. That’s a lie. If you pay cash, you still must pay the processing fee. There is also a prorated annal fee and an enrollment fee. You also MUST consent to receive emails and text messages from Crunch and their “partners”. This is them selling your information to advertisers. They say it’s a month-to-month membership, but you cannot cancel until your 4th month. They have a clause which states you must pay your membership if the gym burns down. Staff turnover is very high due to poor corporate management. Sixty days is about the most their staff can tolerate. They say no cameras or phone use allowed but there are always people filming their workout (and you) and the majority of machines have someone sitting on them playing on their phone. At the moment they have ongoing construction that takes up the entire center of the gym. To get to one side from the other you have to walk the entire perimeter of the building. The construction blows up dust and other debris you are breathing while working out. They don't even schedule the construction to off hours when their are fewer customers. The management sees you as a set of information to sell to the highest bidder. They have no interest in member health, fitness, or providing a good experience. There are multiple other failings, but you should get the picture. To summarize: Great in-store staff, poor quality equipment, useless amenities, aggressive marketing, they sell your personal information. I will say they do a better than average job of keeping the gym clean with the exception of the locker rooms which are poorly designed. Everytime someone washes their hands water runs all over the counter. The counter is always covered in stagnant bacteria...

This location was the reason I left Crunch the first time. This is a FANTASTIC GYM!! But it can easily be missed managed. I re-joined the franchise as I’m a traveler so I’ve been able to go to different locations across the country with NO PROBLEM, and like I said Crunch is a GREAT GYM!! So I decided to visit this location one more time. First problem: I wanted to use the Tanning bed and they said “Your membership does not include tanning privileges.” Which was odd as I have used the tanning bed in other locations. I then asked to upgrade and they said “You have to contact your home GYM to do that, but since is the weekend… No worries, you can use it this one time and you can just call your Home location on Monday.” I was like “cool!! Thanks!” Once Monday came I called my home location to upgrade and they said my current membership includes tanning privileges, I told them “let’s upgrade it anyway cause I can use the buddy pass and I also don’t want more issues with the location I go to (Plano.) So that was done I now have the highest membership. Second problem: I asked for my buddy pass privilege (in Plano) and they said “You have to transfer to use buddy pass at this location, you can only use your buddy pass where you signed up.” I visited another location to ask if I can initiate my transfer there as I was told I must call my home location. And very kindly they said “My man! You have the highest tier! You don’t need to transfer. You got privileges access every where!!” And my response was “NOT AT THE PLANO LOCATION I DONT!! LOL” They were as surprised as I was. I am not sure if Plano just doesn’t want me here, or if this is the actual way they manage their business here. Either way I’m not gonna stop coming here, I’m just not talking to ANY staff member or manager. Just get in do my thing and get ouot.
ORIGINAL REVIEW A YEAR AGO(March 2024): It is a shame that such an amazing gym has management with standards that prevent its customers to use the equipment. There’s a policy on the cycling room which states that the room is for private classes only. As that is totally understandable, the gym does not have those type of bikes outside of the cycling room for customers to use, as any other gym with same policy does. Today as we were asked to leave IMMEDIATELY the room due to that policy, I suggested that there should be some of those bikes out for us to use. The response we received was “Oh no! This is state of the art equipment. Thank you!” In a snobbish and dismissive manner. This person seems to be the manager Matt. While I would not be returning to this particular location, I hope they reconsider some of their policies and management. They just lost 2 customers today, and EōS Fitness will be opening soon in the same area....
