NO RETURNS ON PURCHASES MADE WITH DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD (click MORE for response to reply)
Just purchased a uke as a gift for my daughter and I must say that I feel very uneasy about the transaction. I traded an electric guitar toward the purchase and got $50 toward the trade. I did not get to see the prices that the salesman said the guitar was worth, just had to take his word for it. I felt rushed through the transaction and was given very little information about the instrument. The real kicker is that AFTER completing the transaction I notice the bottom of the receipt says "all debit and credit sales final." There is NO POSTING of this policy anywhere near the register or on the sales floor. I questioned it and he told me if it didn't work out "I could post it on Craigslist." I'm all for helping small businesses, but this is an instance where I wish I would have gone through Guitar Center. I've heard good things about the lessons they offer, so don't let this review put you off of those services. I just DON'T recommend the retail side of the business.
Response to Reply My review was meant as a Public Service Announcement for potential customers that you CANNOT and WILL NOT obtain a refund simply because of your method of payment and that the policy is NOT posted anywhere in the store.
As for the guitar trade in, whatever, it's done. Maybe I got burned, maybe not. That's business.
I have since changed my review to TWO stars as opposed to one because the uke is a quality instrument.
I am updating my post because I take offense to the implications made by the owner. The "night before" comment in particular. I don't care for being made to look like the inept, procrastinating father who was scrambling to find my child a present. Yours was the FOURTH music store that I visited looking for a ukulele. I liked the idea of spending my money in a local, non-chain store. Researching the instrument, comparing the prices, and working take time. Besides, it shouldn't matter when a purchase is made and I find it shameful that you'd use that to discount a customer's opinion.
As far as the upgraded gig bag "deal" is concerned, the ukulele is sold as a "with gig bag" offer and you said you didn't have any others to offer. That is just fulfilling as advertised sale.
After the purchase I felt uneasy,...
Read moreI took lessons from this music store for 2 months. Everything was fine the first month, the second moth everything fell apart. I was given misinformation 3 different times are the time of my lesson, resulting in no lesson 3 different times and was expected to be okay with it. I didn't sign up for lessons for the next month, they still took money out of my account, refused to return the $90 and Mark then called me a liar and hung up the phone on me. That's a TERRIBLE way to run a business. And you should NEVER speak to your customers that way. The lessons teachers are fabulous. But I do not recommend ever taking lessons here unless you'd like to be ripped off. Good luck.
Edit: Mark, you're right, I didn't provide you with 24 hrs notice of the lesson reschedule, I provided you with 3 days!! But you're right I'm the liar. Saying I'm "fabricating stories" (That's calling me a liar) And hanging the phone up on me is going to make me want to come back have lessons. But its your business, you do what you want. You're more than welcome to call your customers liars and hang the phone up before anything is resolved. You definitly are not going to keep customers very long if you continue in that manner. But, like I said, it's your business, you're welcome to treat them...
Read moreMy son has been a student at KC Music Academy for a few years now, and I have watched him grow and really blossom into his own musical talent, and gain so much confidence, since he's been with them. The owner is a guy who clearly cares about both music and kids. My son's instructors are equally committed to his development, and are talented musicians themselves. The improvement my son has made as a guitarist has been beyond my expectations, to be honest! He takes lessons and is also in the house rock band....and he has never once wanted to miss a session. They do showcases several times a year - at real "rock" venues - and it's a blast! Man, their band rocks!! And they've become his good friends. We've always felt welcome at KC Music and I'd recommend them...
