I made an initial review about Kc Sushi a few months ago. Last Wednesday I was in the area and stopped by. I was the only customer in there from 8:30 to close . My new experience was very good. I ordered the K&D roll, a coke and a margarita. For dinner I had the Teppankyi Chicken, Shrimp and steak dinner. Everything was good and all were polite. I felt bad I was the only customer in at the time prior to closing however they said I had just missed the rush . I was really really hungry so I’m happy I waited . Overall from this visit I’d give them a 10/10. I don’t remember any of the team members name from that night but we all talked and laughed. We even talked about our babies and coco melon. There’s always room for growth and this visit around I saw that . I can’t complain this time. Thank you KC Sushi for making my night without my son perfect ❤️
04/7/2021 I absolutely love KC sushi. It’s my favorite place up north. However Kim is extremely rude. My husband and I’ve ate there multiple times and her attitude has not changed. Kim do you treat all your African American customers rude and not worthy of spending their money at your establishment. Please let us know so we may go somewhere where our money is valued . This isn’t a one time incident but multiple times with Kim. We’ve never been rude or rambunctious, always polite and we’ve even tipped despite her attitude. On today 4/7/2021, you hung on me after I asked could I pay over the phone. I wanted to pay over the phone because it was close to closing, you told me why wouldn’t I just come in but I was still at least 7 minutes away from the. I arrived at 8:53 pm and you guys close at 9 pm. I wanted to be courteous about closing the tab prior to my arrival because again I see you guys close at 9 pm. Also I asked you to put the sauce in the boxes you just threw the sauce in the bag without making sure the lids you put the sauce in was on correctly on. Lastly you seemed bothered that I even came into your establishment. In closing, I hope the issue is resolved quickly, before this severely affects...
Read moreI have never left a review at any place before, me and my boyfriend both have worked in the service industry and understand most situations. Never in our lives have we had the WORST experience at a restaurant and they just don’t care. We went to this restaurant on a Friday night at around 4:30 and got seated within 30 minutes which is understandable. However, we waited 2 hours for 4 rolls of sushi. The workers were only focused on getting to go orders out and not people in the restaurant. Some to go orders were ready in 30 minutes while we spent 2 hours waiting. I had ordered a drink, and I never saw my server again until he handed us the check. A cook handed us our food. Then fast forward to today when we’re trying to order food for my family (To Go) and we spent literally 30 minutes calling repeatedly only for them to continuously hang up without even saying a word. If they aren’t taking orders over the phone because they are busy or whatever the reason is, they should tell you not hang up on you. We ended up ordering from Moonlight Sushi in Liberty which has great customer service, better employees, and management. We are usually in and out of there in under an hour. We will not order from here again. I’m not sure how it gets 4.5 stars honestly. The only bright side about this place is the...
Read moreIf you were to ask any random person what the best sushi in KC was, they probably wouldn't say KC Sushi, because most just don't know it's there. But I'm really happy to call this my sushi place, and is the best I've had in KC.
The albacore sashimi may be the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. Get the Lee's Summit roll, too! It's deep fried texture brings in a little Kansas City without compromising what it means to be an amazing roll.
It's a little hole-in-the-wall tucked away just out of view of Zona Rosa, and you have to be really looking for it to find it. The atmosphere is understated, and definitely gives you the feel of a sushi dive, not the kicked up fusion ambiance of Kona in the plaza or Saki on 64th. But it is clean, charming, and cute, and the staff is so nice! The decor obviously has a lot of Asian elements like any other strip mall sushi, but left me with the feeling of a Japanese pizza joint if you'd imagine.
Don't sit too close to the door in the winter because people coming in and out with make you freeze, and the entry way kinda makes you feel like you're walking into a construction site foreman's trailer, but that is really my only complaint. These are folks who obviously take sushi seriously and do it in a way that makes you feel welcome, and at a...
