Terrible Service, all around. I will start at the beginning of the story:
I enter the place looking for connectors to my 1/2" drip system and I was having difficulty navigating the store. I see that there is a help hub in the center of the place and an eager store clerk is there to help me out (great job). I tell him my request, and he leads me to where it can be found and then he proceeds to pick the items up for me. He then empties them into my hands and I rush off on my way. The next morning I go to connect it to my drip system only to find out the kid picked up the wrong ones (he go the 3/8") so I hurry back to Ace Hardware to exchange the items for the right ones. I pick up the 1/2" connectors and hurry to my garden to continue my task for the morning. Not a big deal, until I find out that those are also too small. After working with this tubing for 3 years, I was pretty sure that it was 1/2" tubing but I wanted to verify. I head over to Home Depot with my tubing in hand and sure enough, their 1/2" connectors (marked in the exact same way as the ones from Ace) fit perfectly into my 1/2" tubes, MEANING that Ace Hardware sold me the wrong product for the SECOND time. I work on a two strike system so I was done with them. I go into the store to get my refund and I request to speak to a manager only to find that there is no manager on sight. My anger starts to boil over (fault on me) and in the end I just say, "give me the refund."
This is where things blow out of proportion. Another employee (an older man by the name of Mac) comes up and without finding out what the problem was, blurts out "He probably just grabbed the wrong item." For all those who have a short attention span, reference the beginning and you will see that it was an employee who grabbed it, not me. And even if I had grabbed the correctly labelled one, it still would have been wrong as proven by my second trip. I blow up, because if that isn't crap customer service, I don't know what is. So I continue to demand my refund, when another older man (Tom) joins the fray. The two begin to hover over me as if a fight is about to break out when I witness another act of unprofessionalism: Another employ (a portly female) starts filming the incident. Instead of trying to get her peers under control, she starts filming as if this was a viral video about to happen. Finally, my refund comes and she didn't do it correctly (missing some of the items that I was returning, but I am not going to get fooled by Ace's trickery this time as I have lost all trust in them). She then offers to give me it in cash and I just want to get out of there, so I consent. But wait, Tom is still out the door ready to escort me out. After having seen what I had already seen, I didn't know if this shady character would try to knife me in the back. What did he think that his escort would help in some way? So I told him to burn in hell.
In the end, I will never shop at another Ace Hardware again.

Read moreI was in town for just a couple of days visiting family. I needed some some miscellaneous supplies and hardware to build some brain teasers for the grandkids to which Andrew and other staff were very helpful and friendly. When I initially walked in the store, I noticed the Stihl chainsaws. As I browsed the shelfs for available models you had a spot for one I was interested in. At that time Kevin asked if I needed any help. He was very friendly, from there we had a good conversation. This model has been hard to find as well as other products being on backorder throughout the country. He had commented that he had ordered two of them and asked if I was interested. I said yes, depending on shipping cost. Once they come in we'll have the exact dimensions to determine the shipping cost. So I'm excited to see if this works out, just being a fluke that I was visiting and needed some hardware. It was a pleasure to walk into an Ace hardware that was exceptionally stocked for the square footage that it had. I was able to find everything I needed without having to go to a box or specialty store. So many of the ACE hardware's have closed up in other areas of the country. It was refreshing to walk into an ACE hardware with friendly staff that had a...
Read moreI love home town stores like ace, they normally have some of the 1.off items that I can't find locally anywhere else. I usually love these kinds of stores because they are usually staffed with friendly people whe genuinely want to help and make sure you leave the store with what you need and leave happy. I have been in here several times and I'm about done with the place. The employees seem like they will walk longer paths in the store to avoid being asked anything, when you do have one walk by they are usually power walking by mumbling to them selves how busy they are so you feel like you can't ask them anything, I finally found a girl to ask a her a question about where a product might be and she was very short with me, she finally asked someone on the radio where it might be but I just wanted to get away from her because it was so awkward now much she didn't want to help me. The lady that checked me out when I left was friendly (you should all be like the lady who ead at the check out counter) I don't know if Ace isn't staffing enough people in the store so they are over worked or of they are just not good with customers but it's time to step it up. Itd a competitive world and Ace is being...
