This place is the Russel Wilson Denver broncos trade of QC entertainment- hyped liked crazy for months just to fall flat upon opening! EXPENSIVE and completely unorganized are the two words that come to mind when thinking about my trip to iron T. My group had a reservation made online and so we showed up about 15 minutes before that time just to be told they gave our bay to someone else. My question is why have a reservation process if you just give away those reservation times to others?- it’s not like we were late either- we were early. We brought our own golf clubs so we didn’t experience any of the problems others around us were having with bent and or missing clubs. I think it’s stupid if you bring your own clubs that you have to pay extra money for clubs that are dented that you aren’t using? Unless I missed Somthing in the check in process we paid the fees for the bay then charged an additional 5 per person in the bay. We were told it was to cover club costs? We brought our own though? The ball tracking system worked maybe 1/2 the time? The prices for the bay could get you 18 holes of golf at any public course in town… the food.. the drinks.. it’s hyped. It looks like stuff you’d make in an air fryer at home and feed your toddler for lunch but 10x the price. I’ve had better hospital food! We had wings and some drinks while we waited. So after an hourish wait at the second floor bar for a bay to open up we finally got to hit balls. It was super inconvenient though because I was there killing time while my kids where at a party down the street.. because they didn’t honor our actual reservation time I only got a few minutes of actual range time before I had to leave and pick up the kids. I don’t think I’d even try bringing my kids here… it’s marketed as a family fun place but it’s a few arcade games a small putting area in the middle of the arcade that would loose my kids attention quick.. I personally didn’t think it could get worse than pushing our bay rental time back an hour but the service that they hype was also non existent. I was really looking forward to a great time like I keep seeing advertised. The bays were full but the restaurant and arcade pretty empty… so I don’t understand why there wasn’t better service on the hitting pad? I guess it’s new and they are working the kinks out? But we’re a few months in now since open and I guess I expected the hype I keep seeing but it just wasn’t all there. I may try it again in the winter to see if things have changed but for in season golf- I’ll spend my money and take my kids to an actual golf course and play and if I’m trying to celebrate anything-it won’t be there because the incompetence of just the reservation process really had me questioning the loyalty of the place? like is it to the customer that’s made a reservation in advance or is it to the first person that walks through the door with money to give? I’d totally get it if I was late to the t time- give the bay out but we were early and still had to wait an hour to get to hit which essentially ruined the...
Read moreOverall, okay. Not smoothly run for an event.
Had an "event" needing 3 bays next to each other, and require food and drink minimums with a 20% event fee/service charge already placed, but aren't up to "event" standards.
Before I carry-on, I wouldn't consider an adult birthday party to be an "event" but for three bays in a row, we had to consider it as such.
Pros: Good food and drinks, wait-staff were very friendly, and the facility was clean. Cons described below:
Being an 'event' we had to meet a food and beverage minimum, and it was explained to me that 20% charge would be applied. The catering/events packet stated no gratuity would be included, but when emailing with Iron Tee and discussing this, we both were talking as if it were a gratuity. When my husband went to pay the bill, he was instructed that it was a 20% house charge, and that the servers would only get a portion of this. Not a big deal overall, but when paying a certain amount to meet a required minimum and requiring a PERCENT of total food/drink cost house charge, and then having to tip on top of the house charge? What, per industry standards that is supposed to now be TWO 20% additions on an over $500 bill?
When we got there, the heat was already warming up, 12-3pm was our time reserved in the bays. It was 86 degrees with an excessive heat warning by the time we left. There were NO function of the fans. This was brought up almost immediately to the waitress and she stated this was a known issue in these bays and that she would let someone know. If we know this is an issue, why set up a 3-hour rental in these bays? And yet, at the two hour mark, maintenance comes by and turns them on, a simple reset flick of the switch and it made a world of difference. Ridiculous. I know we can't control the weather, and we dressed for the heat, but it does get very sweltering with no air-flow in those bays packed with people.
I also requested a copy of the receipt, which my husband got since I left early, upon review, there are two drinks (total $22) marked as "don't make" but we were still charged for them. Unknown what happened there.
I think staff was extremely understaffed; as for an 'event' we had one waitress that was also serving multiple other bays. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I feel terribly sorry for her.
By the end, the people scheduled to use one of the bays at 3pm were gathering outside our bay, the games/screens were not turned off to indicate time was up, and we waited another 15 minutes after 3pm to cash out. Luckily, the group waiting was moved to another bay so they didn't have to lose more time because of this.
I know this is a newer facility but I would've hoped a lot of the kinks would have been figured out by now. Seems like an okay place for a one-off date night or family outing, but definitely not...
Read moreMy husband and I went there for our anniversary dinner and it was not a great experience. I am not one to ever leave reviews, let alone a negative one, but I feel a need to at least give people a warning so they have some idea what to expect and not be as disappointed as us.
To start off, 3 out of the 4 doors in the entryway of the building did not open. Not that big of a deal, but was sort of an indication as to how this business is run. Next, we had a reservation but were told when we checked in that we had a 30 minute wait because they got busy and evidently don’t hold reservations when they get busy. It seems like if they aren’t going to actually keep reservations, they should just not do them. People make plans around reservations and if you can’t keep them you sort of ruin any plans surrounding it.
When we waited in the bar/restaurant area, there was live music playing, which normally I enjoy, however, the music was so loud it was hard to talk over. When we finally got up to the driving range I noticed the clubs were pretty dented and some were even missing. The driving range itself was decent and the games were fine. The facility was clean.
We ordered nachos as an appetizer and it was basically chips with melted velveta over it. The chicken was super dry. Basically, picture what you would order at a concession stand at a football game for nachos and pay $19 bucks for it. It came out within 10 minutes of ordering which makes me wonder if it was freshly prepared or something premade and just left under a warmer until someone ordered? All the food seemed to come out suspiciously fast, which normally would be a good thing but only if the food is good quality. I would rather wait to have food that is actually being cooked and good quality.
For a drink, I ordered a moscato and they gave me a different wine by mistake. About 40 minutes later the waitress finally came back and replaced it with the correct drink after I let her know it wasn’t the right drink. My husband ordered a pint of Busch light, it was advertised on a big screen in the building that it was $3 for a pint, but then they charged us $7 for it. It must have been a particular beer that was $3, but it was never specified anywhere. All in all, not worth the $80 dollars for food/drink and $50 to play. Very...
