Hurts Donut Co. — Restaurant in Pleasant Valley Township

So we tried to go to donuts and more which have the cherry donuts however they are now closed on Mondays. We were planning donuts before going to eye doctors appointments. So next one on the way was Dunkin donuts but they were only drive thru and I wanted to see the donut selection. My daughter mentioned Hurts donuts. Another 10 minute drive but I really wanted to see the selection to choose. I was concerned at first as pictures looked liked all decorated donuts but my daughter assured me they had glazed and jelly filled too. I read the reviews and only negative over read was that one had donuts they thought were not cooked all the way which I was slightly concerned. But we wanted donuts and I wanted to see them. Let me say the atmosphere was excellent. The smell when you walk in is a full bloom donut shop smell!!! Place was very clean. Service was excellent. The donuts were the freshest I have every had!!! No skimping on ingredients like the Bavarian had tons of filling plus the chocolate on top was more than I have ever had from any donut store. I tried the raspberry donut too and tons of filling. It does not have the seed raspberry. The donuts seemed larger than any prior ones we had but it's been awhile since we had some. I tasted my daughters cherry one too to compare to the cherry ones they loved say donuts and more, and it was fluffy and tasted just like those. Both myself and my two teen daughters confirmed now our favorite donut shop and worth the long trip drive from Davenport to Bettendorf. Some of these recent bad reviews are so entertaining to read. You have people complaining about the donuts being too sweet, being for children, the lack of options etc. I mean, come on... They're donuts. Not only children can have sweet treats. Let the adults have some fun, too.

And oh lord, Hurts does donuts right. Plus you can order diabetes in a cup (their donut milkshakes), which by the way, are the most delicious things I've ever laid on my taste buds. My personal favorite is the Homer donut, and the Homer donut milkshake, of course.

They have a wide variety of donuts, a flavor and combo for every person. The cinnamon rolls are massive (It could feed me 4 times), and it's amazing being able to see them actually make the things behind the clear wall. The customer service has always been wonderful, as long as you're not a cranky old hag, and you treat them with respect. They're human too.

And for the people complaining about them not having a large selection... When you go in after the breakfast and lunch rush, what do you expect? They can't just pop donuts into existence with their mind powers, and they can only put so many out at a time. Personally I've never experienced this lack of choice myself, but I also don't go after their busy hours.

TLDR: Donut good, donut milkshake better, come here...

**^^^ Update. The owner contacted me and I’m on my way to pick up the 5 dozen I previously ordered for my family and my employees at John Deere. Thank you very much. The owner gave me suggestions when he replied and I now know even if the staff didn’t tell or doesn’t in the future. Thank you very much My family and I have never been to Hurts Donuts before. We decided to try it and it was the worse experience we could possibly have. We ordered donuts and they were all stuck together. We couldn’t eat them. I work at John Deere and ordered 36 for my employees and no one wanted any because they looked disgusting. When your paying the money you do the least the staff can do, busy or not, is take time to make sure they aren’t going to end up all together and becoming the mess it did. My daughter tried eating one that she ordered from the ones we got for ourselves and all she could taste was the other donut 🍩 that was smashed into it. There was icing all over the outside of the box when we got into our car. We work hard and that was $70 wasted.
