We were customers here for 6 months and regularly brought our dog in for daycare.. Very nice staff but they openly admitted to putting my dog in the back in a kennel if he "becomes too much". Which in their eyes means when my dog is wanting extra attention or tries to play with the other dogs (as it was explained to us). They let us know it was never inappropriate play or agression. But they didn't want to deal with the other dogs getting 'riled up'.
My dog becomes extremely anxious when left on his own/ being separated. Hence why we put him in daycare when we are in the office a couple times a week.. there were multiple times we had picked up our dog where it took us hours or even days to bring down his anxiety from this experience. As if he was kept on his own all day. We didn't know this was a routine practice until the place said our dog was not a good fit for their establishment because he is "too needy". Other than our puppy getting older and being told that he would do better with the big dogs, Absolutely NO issues were ever communicated to my fiance and I. We never got calls from this place nor did the staff say anything when my fiance picked up our dog. We were told he was doing great, in fact, when asking them how he did.
After 6 months of routine daycare and no issues communicated to us, we were flabbergasted when we picked our dog up on the final day of his current 10 day package and the staff asked us to not come back. We were only told that he needed too much attention. They told us that they "have ways to deal with this" by putting dogs in a kennel but this did not work with Zeus. Extra play time was never brought up to us, nor did they communicate that our dog was being taken out of the group. If we were told that was happening, we would not be bringing our dog back every week! Hence why we were only told on the last day of our package. Very slimy indeed.
This place is super convenient and gets the job done but just be aware throwing your dog in the back is how they deal with routine inconveniences. I personally am not okay with how my dog...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I picked up my dog on Saturday 03/13, she had a gash on her neck which nobody had told me about. It took less than 30 seconds of her being in the car for me to see blood on the car seat cover and in her hair. I had also checked in around 3:30 pm and saw an employee favoring 1 dog in particular and when my dog calmly walked up to her for attention, she sprayed her in the face and pushed her away. My dog is a 5 month old puppy. About an hour later I checked in again and my dog was no place in sight on the cameras for over an hour, so we decided to pick her up early because last time my dog attended and all day previously, she had been playing or following staff constantly. Apparently she and another āpuppyā had been playing too rough and got separated, but yet nobody let me know of the incident until I called about the blood after picking her up. I even asked the guy at the front desk when I got her if she did well and he said if I didnāt get a call that things were good and obviously they were not. Nick was great though, when I called he looked into it and also called a few hours later to check if she was okay. Seems to be a lack of communication and despite having cameras, a lack of supervision. They asked for a rating on the visit shortly after and I sent this feedback and have not heard anything since. She will not be returning. She went twice and the first time was great, 2nd...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Camp Bow Wow!!!!! I have 2 yr old boxer who also loves it there! I previously took him to Pampered Pooches in St Louis Park and I WOULD NOT recommend them at all. When Apollo (my dog) went to Pampered Pooches he came home with really LARGE wounds on his body (mainly his neck) almost daily, when I spoke with the manager and the owner they were pretty rude about it and just said its normal when dogs play all day and that "maybe doggy daycare isnt for Apollo" AND while Apollo went to daycare there he had to get stitches on his head from another dog biting him. My dog is like my child and I am so happy I found Camp Bow Wow. Not only do I trust them with him but he has NEVER came home with any type of wound. The people who work there are always really friendly. The employees are provided with ear plugs for when the dogs bark, while at Pampered Pooches they put shock collars on the dogs if they barked. I can just tell that the people who work at Camp Bow Wow actually like dogs while at Pampered Pooches I dont think that...
