I recently bought a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650 KRT edition ABS for my first bike from Pilgrim Powersports. Overall the staff were friendly and made the actual buying process easy and smooth.
That said, there were a few areas that could have been handled better. I paid for the motorcycle (all of it in cash) before I ever saw it in person or sat on it. The salesman likely wasn't aware of that. When they did show me the bike it, was rushed into the garage area and I wish they had taken more time to go over its features and mechanical highlights. I was excited to learn more about the Ninja 650's unique design, like the slipper clutch and dual throttle bodies, but that didn't happen.
There were also a few discrepancies on the assembly/prep checklist. For example, they checked off items like battery maintenance instructions and periodic maintenance guidance but those were never actually explained to me. I don't even know the interval of when to clean and lube my chain. Granted I can google it but I would have preferred if they told me and showed me especially since it is my first motorcycle. The local delivery was fantastic, it's free if the round trip is 40 miles or less. The round trip for me was closer to 50 miles but I was not charged. The guy who dropped off the bike didn't explain any of it - but I'd assume he was under the impression that the dealer did it when I bought the bike. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience but it did feel a bit rushed - like the priority was closing the sale quickly; rather than ensuring I felt fully informed. Still, the team was nice and I'm very happy with the bike, and I will be buying my next ninja there...
Read moreThe service department has completely failed to meet expectations. I asked for several services to be done to my motorcycle, including fixing my sticking brakes, doing valves, new tires, new chain, and a general tune-up to keep it running. I need my bike, as I don't have a car. I expected this dealership to write down everything I wanted, and get it done within a reasonable time.
I call about 3 weeks into service, they had the bike sitting around waiting on parts. I figure they might be close and just finishing up the engine work. 4 more weeks go by, and i finally get to pick it up. rolling my 450 pound Kawasaki around their lot was near impossible because they didn't fix the sticking caliper. they did NOT replace my chain. they did NOT do a carb clean. they did not replace my spark plugs, they didn't do nearly anything I asked of them. they likely let it sit until the parts for the engine came in.
They quite literally wrote on the slip next to my brake complaint, "resolution: installed new front pads and balanced front wheel." when questioned they basically said they didn't want to rebuild the caliper. They just did the valve work, left whatever gas was in there, slapped tires and pads on, told me it was ready. The bike barely made it home, I made it very clear I wanted it to start and stop, function as it should. must be poor listening skills or something. take your bike the extra few miles, go somewhere else. these guys will just take your money and rush you...
Read moreRead moreI got my inspection sticker but no one working there is 1) friendly 2) can't give property directions to show customers where to go with what they want to purchase and 3) the staff( except there inspection sticker service(?50 years old),) act like you're bothering then from video games on their phone. All 3 had they noses stuck in a device and could only answer in one or two words sentences .. With difficulty! Only the MAN inspecting my Bike had work ethic and was kinda to me, the customer. I'll not go there again and the 30 friends and aquaintences I rode with won't either. They warned me, but I didn't feel like driving 55 minutes to Bettencourt Honda..(that place is ACES & 5 STARS) It's worth the 55 minutes driver to be treated like a friend, not to be made to feel I'm...
