I walked into the restaurant tonight and the after a few minutes standing up front I waitress walked out I did not catch your name at first I told her I table for one she asked me if it was for their or to go I said for here she asked me if anyone else was joining me again when I first started the conversation with this lady I stayed at a table for one so again I politely reminded her no just me after what she did she walked away no Smiles knows any indication that she was coming right back 5 minutes goes by she comes back and asks if she can fix me a drink I said yes I'll order the Pepsi she asked if I was ready to order I stated yes I ordered the fish and chips which remind you comes with three fish Fry's tartar sauce when my plate was delivered by Miss Courtney my waitress there were no tartar sauce on my plate by the time I realized that Courtney had already made her way back into the kitchen now at the present time of me visiting this restaurant there were only two tables and one of those had already left privilously to me having to ask another waitress to bring out tartar sauce for me did not know they didn't have any dipping cups so they just bought out four packages of tartar sauce I asked if they had a cup to put it in the waitress stated no I asked her if I could get a saucer the waitress said yes 25 minutes into my food my waitress Courtney never returned I had to ask another waitress that was working on her day off to pour me another glass of Pepsi I'm not worried about Courtney not smiling although it does help to leave a better tip to somebody in a better mood but I'm pretty sure I watch her mention to three other people talkin about me and the way they way they were pointing to my table and talkin I knew it was about me there was no one else seated around me the only of the table that was seated was by the kitchen area this is not a great way to protect business nor have I have ever felt ashamed to spend my money dinner restaurants with low standards I asked for a manager and they stated no manager was in the building the manager had left I never knew a corporation or business running without some kind of manager...
Read moreI should preface I am a Wednesday regular due to my job. But my job is changing and it won't be on my routine anymore.
So as a goodbye I wanted to leave a review of the wonderful time I have with my mother.
Every Wednesday for months now I've come to this IHOP with my mother after work, and it's always at the same time so the customer traffic and wait staff are always the same.
With that said, I always get the same thing and haven't mixed it up much, and the kitchen has done a great job with it.
I get cinnamon French toast every time, not really a menu item but you gotta try it, they can just put the cinnamon pancake frosting on the French toast, so good.
And our wait staff Laura has learned the order, so we're just regulars now, we don't even use menus anymore, just, "the regular?" "Yeah." And it's dope as hell to be that close to someone in your routine.
She's wonderful, I've actually really learned a lot about the point of sales machine just from her trying to put my order in over the months, and she always trys to get us the best deal because we're ordering something off menu.
And that's kinda it.
Aside from my experience though, it seems like the wait staff and the kitchen are at odds, but I always assumed the kitchen staff are also the managers, but maybe the manager isn't here on slow days.
It's hard to say goodbye to the place,...
Read moreA bit of a shitshow at IHOP. Went out with my mother and sister for my mother's birthday breakfast. Was highly disappointed. Our waitress was probably on some kind of heavy sedation and another when my sister asked another server where ours was (after waiting no lie 45 minutes after ordering) she told us that she had no idea and she could be anywhere because she has a bad attitude LOL. Ok so where is this girl and why is the table that sat down after us paying and getting up to leave?? No idea, but like a knight in shining armor the manager emerges from the back room victorious with our food in hand, and apologizes profusely and tells us we don't have to pay. Forgot to mention that IHOP was completely bombarded being that my mother's birthday fell on father's day this year, but we were aware and patient to a degree. Food, once it arrived, was mediocre. Seemed as though the waitress (either before or after nodding out) might have left it in the window for awhile, because none of our dishes were hot, barely warm. It's respectable that the manager recognized the situation and our meal was free. Decent chance I might go back one day, as they say time...
