My friend grew up going to Ken's Magic Shop in Fairlawn in the 80s and eventually took me.

It's rare that you can actually SEE magic or "le magique" as it's known in imaginary circles as magic is an immaterial phenomenon... (best left to the pros, amateurs, hobbyists, and anyone frankly.)

But not at Ken's Magic Shop where magic is on every shelf.

In the 80s my friend was a teenage, backyard, super 8 filmmaker and Ken's was his first production supply store. Spirit gum and fake hair turned his friend into the Wolfman for movie magic.

Wanted to say RENT from Ken’s Costume! My 🇫🇷 Napoleon costume 🥖 was THE costume to beat at my Halloween Party. The shop has so many costumes you can rent, and all I had to do was flip through a big binder and point to the one I wanted. The price to do so was so reasonable ($45!—for a full costume with pants, boot covers, jacket, oversized hat AND sword/sash, and with the provision that you could return it anytime during the first week of November). Lastly, the service was great. I can’t recall the name of the gentleman who helped me, but when I asked if the costume came with a sword, he goes: “You want a sword, we’ll throw in a sword.”...

Really neat little magic/costume/costume accessory shop. I went in looking for a particular set of cards (so the magic part of the shop) and found exactly what I was looking for with the help of the man behind the counter (Ken?). Whoever that gentleman was he was incredibly kind and we had nice small talk about owning a magic shop and all that good stuff.
