My son and I went on this head boat a few years ago, the captain was rude and unprofessional but the first mate was friendly because he makes his money from tips. We caught a few walleye so it wasn't a total loss. This year we thought we would try again hoping for better results. The captain was polite but was on his cell phone for the majority of the time when he was driving the boat. The first mate good but not great. We did not catch one walleye. Out of 13 people on the boat there were only 2 keepers. I understand that they can't control the fish but I could tell they didn't expect to catch anything and didn't really care. Most places will offer a discount for a future trip if you don't catch any fish.....not this place. We didn't even get an apology. When I called to book the trip and I called a couple times with questions, the guy on the phone was very short and acted like he couldn't be bothered with questions. Went by the dock last Sunday and talked to one of their captains about their Perch walk-on charters. Asked if the trip included bait and he said yes. Made a reservation but when I showed up this morning they wanted to charge $7 for bait. I informed them I'd been told bait is included and bait is not one of the things mentioned in their brochure that the customer needs to bring. Instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding, a person who identified as the owner's son proceeded to go off on me and let me know that I should have gone in the building for information because the captains don't know the details. I decided to go out anyway since I had already paid and I didn't want to drive 120 miles round trip and not get to fish. So I went out to my car to get my tackle while the owner's son was still ranting in the store. He eventually followed me out to the parking lot and handed me my money back, effectively cancelling my contract. A very unpleasant experience with an unprofessional person and a place I'll avoid...

I was amazed at how rude the crew were with this charter. The staff inside the store were friendly and helpful as well as first mate Jesse. We arrived and checked in without being told which boat to get on so we asked one of the captains who immediately got an attitude with us because we didn’t know. The captain of our boat was terribly rude and inconsiderate of paying customers. He would literally cuss every time I said fish on because he would have to put his rod down to help a paying customer. I would give a one star rating on my experience but Jesse was great so I gave a two star. The captain should be less worried about catching his own fish and more concerned about giving paying customers a great experience.
