Gretchen's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Port Orange

I attempted to contact the Port Orange location multiple times this morning (November 9), the phone just rang and rang with no answer. I was attempting to inquire about the availability of an item that the Hallmark website shows in stock (Ariel ornament) before making an hour drive to pick up. I placed the online order for pick up since I was unable to speak to anyone over the phone, the order was successful and my card was charged. I contacted the Port Orange location again and Heidi answered the call, she was rude and stated “NO I cancelled the order”. When I questioned why, she stated they didn’t have any in stock, although the website shows they have more than 5. She said those were reserved for other customers. Literally, all 5? Update the stock, answer the phone, and run a business with employees that treat customers fairly and with respect. I’ll reserve my business to Ryan’s Hallmark in Orlando and will certainly be making a complaint with Hallmark corp. Horrible ethics, communication, and treatment to potential...

There is a woman that works at this store that is very rude. Her name is Carol. The first time we had trouble with her was when my wife was using a hallmark reward certificate and before Carol even looked at the certificate she immediately said " you can't use this". She also stated that my wife couldn't use her reward points on the cards, but she hadn't even looked at the cards yet to see they were over the $2 amount on certificate requirement. The next time was the same situation but it was worse. My wife was trying to explain that her rewards could be used and Carol put her hand in my wife's face and told her not to talk. My wife thought Carol was going to strike her. The manager came up and my wife told her what was going on and the manager gave a half hearted sorry. My wife called corporate and they said store owner would call her. In the real world she should have been fired but she continues to work there and the owner has yet to respond to us. Stay away...

I had the most wonderful experience at this store! The staff was incredibly attentive and caring, and didn't pressure me to buy anything. I was going through a roigh moment, and simply wanted to browse to take my mind off things. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I felt right at home.

Walking into Gretchen's Hallmark store at Volusia Mall turned out to be a lifesaver for me. After browsing for a bit, I walked out with two items and signed up for the Hallmark Crown Rewards program. The impact on my day was immediate - my troubles seemed to fade into the background, and I felt a sense of peace that lasted throughout the day.

I'm am grateful for the staff at Gretchen's Hallmark for embodying the Hallmark culture, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
