I was on social media when an ad popped up for Royal Rasoi Express, a new Indian restaurant that just opened for business a few days prior in the town that I reside in. Indian food is my absolute favourite cuisine so I was immediately excited. I stopped in to order a take out meal and what a delightful experience it was! I met Gaurav, one of the owners who was beaming with pride as he spoke about the restaurant and the various items on the menu. I settled on a Lunch Box that had basmati rice, chicken makhani, goat curry, plain naan and a gulab jamun for dessert. I also got a mango lassi to drink. The meal was neatly packaged in an appropriate sized container to prevent spillage which was so appreciated. It was absolutely delicious and authentic and as I savoured each bite, I enjoyed the explosion of flavours in my mouth from the chicken and goat dishes with each spice used, easily discernable. There was nothing plain about the plain naan. It was extremely tasty, possibly from the butter used. The dessert had the right amount of cardamom in it and the lassi was refreshing to drink. It was an exceptional meal and I look forward to patronizing this gem at least once weekly. For all Indian food lovers or those folks wishing to try something new, different and exciting, let Royal Rasoi Express Port Orange delight...

I had been here to try some North Indian Cuisine and it was a real taste and Authentic Punjabi flavor.
Just for our friends who are not basically an Indian, I would like to mention that there was many different styles of Food within the Indian Cuisine. The food like Kofta, Paneer, Tandoori are considered the traditional North Indian Food and that too from the state of Punjab.
People usually get confused or at times and they are mostly not aware of the real Taste of Indian cuisine. But they like the food if it's somewhat edible! But, this restaurant serves the authentic Punjabi flavor.
I try to write a detailed review every time especially about the Indian foods, and I would definitely recommend this food joint for people in Daytona Beach area or visiting here.
Price wise, it's average priced joint. not so much expensive, neither very inexpensive but some one can try a Platter (Lunch Box) at $14.99. It's worth the money.
Last but not the least, the Owners are friendly and the atmosphere is really good here for someone to...
Read moreI ordered food from Royal Rasoi Express restaurant a few times. The place is fairly new and appears clean. The curry tasted fine. Their tandoori items taste authentic. Biryanis at Royal Rasoi are NOT authentic biryanis. What they gave me was pre-cooked rice mixed in a curry. The biryani does not have any aroma of the spices. During the process of mixing the curry with rice, they added onions that end up half cooked. Chillis were added to cover up the taste. The rice was spicier than the chicken. Overall, biryani is a flop show. I could not consume the biryani and had to throw it. I felt deceived when they sold me this unprofessional dish in the name of BIRYANI. Please don't sell biryani if you don't prepare it. Just by selling curries and rotis, the restaurant can make decent business....
