I went in last night to do some Christmas shopping and I was able to find a pair of waterproof boots for my nephew that lives in NY. I thought perfect these will be great in the snow as he hates to get his feet wet during the winter. They had a few scratches and oil marks on them but I thought no big deal if I have ever asked for a discount for something that was damaged I've never received an attitude nor has the staff acted like I was trying to get something for free. It's not like I go searching for damaged goods and always asking for discounts. I have been shopping at Ross for YEARS they always get my business and I've never been treated as poorly as I was last night. The "manager" Diane (who btw wasn't really a manager at all that's just what she told me) met us with a complete attitude when we asked her about it and replied "I'm not going to do anything g for you for that. Shoes get messed up and that's not my problem." I said you couldn't just give me 10% off and she said " I will give you $1 off" At this point the shoes were $30 was it really going to hurt you to give me $2 more dollars off? It's the holidays for christs sake! That wasn't even the worst of it and mind you this is all said with the nastiest attitude and look on her face. What I wanted to say to her is I'm sorry lady that you're in your 40's still working as a cashier at Ross while I'm 30 and for 9 years I've run multiple Massage Envy locations one of them being right down the street from your store maybe you should come on in because you obviously need a massage. But I took the higher road and told her no thank you I don't want to give you my business. As we are walking through the doors to leave she tells the next customer "you can't come to Ross always looking for a discount" Lady the last time I checked I haven't bought anything from YOUR store in quite some time! She literally treated us like scum bags trying to get something for free. I also want to note that I haven't been feeling well at all so I was in the Ross in something comfortable but not something trashy and barely had any makeup on my partner also just had sweats and a tshirt on. I can guarantee if I would have walked in there with what I wear at work I wouldn't have been treated that way but because she judged a book by the cover she got it all thrown right back in her face. I have to commend Barb for taking care of me as I called to make a complaint mostly for the humiliation She caused when we were walking out the door. But barb told me to come in and I could get a CS discount so I asked her if I could turn around and get the boots I really wanted and she replied yes. I walked right back in to the original lady and asked for the shoes and she couldn't even look at me and just said they're already at customer service. I hope today taught you a lesson in customer service. Maybe one day I will stop in again just to see you to give you a free massage card since you think all I want is something for free because you really need to relax your job isn't...
Read moreI USED TO love shopping at this location not anymore who ever the older African American lady that was working in the fitting room on 02/09/22 at 1:35pm was no where to be found so I grabbed 1 dress I was trying to try on (no purse or bag with me) when she comes around the corner and starts screaming at me saying it needs to be on a hanger and I can’t have my cart in the area outside the fitting rooms (which was by where u hang the clothes your wanting to try for them to count) my husband was literally with the cart. Then I say okay I’ll put it on a hanger and while I was trying to she kept screaming at me over and over it has to be on a hanger when it was literally what I was doing she made a huge scene in an attempt to humiliate me which not only made me uncomfortable but also the black gentleman next to me who was also trying to go try on clothes. So I told her you know what never mind it’s fine I won’t try it on and she wants to get on her walkie and start saying to whom ever was on the other end oh I’m sorry you just got on break but we have an issue by the fitting room when she was the only one who even had a problem people with her demeanor should NOT be in the customer...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE Ross is accepting returned used items and selling them back to you for full price. I have spent hundreds, possibly thousands at Ross over the years; on this particular purchase over 200 dollars. I was returning a measly $15 rug because I bought one to many. Was told I cant return it because it "seemed dirty", we attempted to find a spot in the house and it has sat in a bag since, spent less than 1 hour on the floor. The price reduced to $10 dollars and I was still willing to accept that. But I was told, " we can't accept this because we cannot resale it". I got into an argument with her in front of customers, confronting her that they are reselling used, returned merchandise back to customers for full price. She replied "no, thats not what I said". This was in fact exactly what she told me before, that she cant accept my return because she cannot resell it. I will be urging all my family and friends to boycott Ross and take their business elsewhere. Thank you Blonde woman in customer service, hope you enjoyed reading this, you've earned it. If you want to borrow my masters degree in business sometime feel free to contact me...
