I am not the type of person to leave a review, but my son's well being was put in jeopardy. My husband went to Claire's to get our 9yo son's ears pierced. My husband knows I am extremely allergic to nickel and was cautious to buy the 14kt white gold earrings that were upsold to him for $85 because they were supposed to be nickel free.
Come to find out a week later after my son's ears and face are breaking out that the backs to the earrings are not nickel free, we were lied to! 😡 I went back to Claire's to see what they could do to make this right and they tried to sell me the $138 diamond line earrings! No sorry, no refund, nothing!
What I think makes this also so terrible is when talking with the manager, she said the backs are stainless and have nickel. So, after my husband purchased the nickel free earrings because of allergies, he was still sold nickel. This should be illegal, if it isn't already. This is equivalent to going to a restaurant with a food allergy and still being given the food.
I have since changed out my son's earrings with surgical steel, which is nickel free. His ears have started to clear up, but there is still irritation. I don't know how long it will take for his ears and face to be fully cleared up. In the future I will advise any one getting a piercing to go to a professional,...
Read moreI got my daughter‘s ears pierced who is just 1.5 years old. On the day fourth, one of the earlobe piercing came off and I didn’t find the earring. The next day, I went back to get it fixed. Upon my first appointment nobody mentioned that if something like this happened, then it’s not going to be covered and when I went back, I was told that if I get the diamond piercing, then it’s gonna get covered for a year. My question is why it was not mention on the first appointment. I had to pay the full amount on the day fifth when they had to redo it. I think it’s not fair. Also, when I came for the first appointment, I brought my own diamond earrings, which they refused to put in and said that I have to get the earrings from them and have to keep them for three weeks in and then I can change it to my own. On the day fifth only if they can change them to different ones, then I believe they should mention that you can put your own earrings earlier too if something like this happens which happened to us. Really...
Read moreWorst experience at Claire’s ever. Workers on Saturday the 16th were the rudest girls I have ever dealt with. I am a super nice person and I’m young so I am for the most part accommodating… however my sisters and I entered the store to get my sister a special piercing for her trachea. She asked the sales associate if she knew for sure it would fit as they were twenty dollars and the associate said of course! Well low and behold they didn’t. My sister then asked to return them and they were super rude and said they don’t do returns. My sister who was upset came back and told me how rude. I then asked the girls if they could return it politely and they got super rude and defensive and told me they don’t do returns and got extremely flustered and rude. So...
