UPDATE 2: The tailor got the pants done 3 days earlier than the estimate, and the hem looks seamless and beautiful.

UPDATE: We had an issue with our order because the other store that was supposed to ship it to us never did. We went into the Portage store and they ordered a pair from a different store and had them overnighted, but those haven't shown up yet and my event is in 5 days, so I went back in for the 3rd time. Vinny was determined to help us, and after determining that they didn't have any other suits in stock that were the right size and color, he was able to find us another pair of pants at a 4th store an hour away. We went and purchased them same-day. The next day we came back here for tailoring of the pants and the purchase of a shirt, tie, and belt. Vinny was again incredibly helpful and sweet and found us some options that worked with our preferences while still following general fashion and styling guidelines. Matthew was happy to offer us a last-minute double-check of our colors. The tailor was reluctant to work with our timeline, even after I explained that we had ordered these pants a month ago and they never came. She eventually agreed to have the pants ready the night before our event. Overall, I had to spend about 3.5 hours of my time to resolve this issue, and I will still need to return the second pair of pants when they arrive. I would not recommend trusting the ordering system, but I suppose all's well that ends well.

Original review: Matthew's personality absolutely made this experience. He made sure that we were comfortable, was happy to offer us a range of options, and kindly educated us on proper fit and styling. I hope he will be there to counsel us again when we come back to purchase dress shirts and accessories. I have waited a while to cool off before writing this review. The first time we went in here to look, we want to get ideas. We were being pressured to book, however our wedding was two years away. We left, and said we would come back closer to the date. My fiancé and I went into this store earlier this year, to look around and get information. Our wedding is in may of 2018, and we were looking to get prices so we could keep budgeting. We have been doing everything early. All was ok, we "reserved" our suits, and had to put a $40 deposit down. A few months later we started getting calls, insistently. There were voicemails left telling me that I have to come get my groomsmen or my groom fitted. Mind you, there was still a year before the wedding, and my wedding party consists of 3 kids that are still growing, my fiancé who is losing weight, and groomsmen. We tried explaining this to them, but they wouldn't listen and kept calling. The last voicemail I got from the lady, (Ellen maybe?) was saying "if you don't come get fitted by this Friday, we have to cancel your reservation." I had my fiancé call, because I was heated over the threat she just made. They would not let us cancel our reservation over the phone. To this day, they still have my $40. I am proud to say that we found better quality, selection, and prices at Memories Bridal & Evening wear in downtown Kalamazoo. We are saving $30+ on each person, and getting more items for the cost. HEADS UP PROM MOMS. The tailor is an independent contractor and can refuse to fix your kids’ suit, even after your items have been accepted by site. In our case, we needed a zipper fixed on pants for son’s prom suit. We reluctantly ended up at Men’s Warehouse when our other tailer was booked. In retrospect, I should have spent more time calling around to legitimate tailor. After having my son’s pants over 2 weeks, we were advised today, less than 5 days before prom, that the tailor, not an employee of the store, would not fix his pants until they were dry cleaned. They were worn once to homecoming and it was never mentioned at drop off, when we initially called regarding their services or by signage posted at the store. The pants were clean and in new condition, yet here I am, last minute, trying to figure out where to take the pants last minute. The assistant store manager was nice, but his only solution was that he could, you know, sell me a suit 🤦‍♀️ When I called Houston (corporate offices) for assistance, they got no where and apologized that they were at the disposal of a non-employee who, evidently, runs the show. Anyway, heads up to the working parents who don’t have 2.5 hours to deal with this nonsense days before an event.
