I already love Home Depot, I go there a lot. I especially love that you have up to a year to return something when using your HD card to purchase, until you don't. Select items do not qualify for this, so I'd highly recommend researching before you get stuck with an $800 unit such as the Ryobi 40V 1800-Watt Portable Battery Power Station Inverter Generator and 4-Port Charger (Tool Only).
I started with Andrew in customer service returns and had a few issues (not returnable, wouldn't scan to return, sliding card to get credit saying it was the wrong card, etc) he called headquarters twice. When he wasn't successful, he brought another associate over, Emily. She has been doing this a while & tried herself. Calls headquarters, same response (I can't return because it's in the "gas" generator category .. this was battery). She then brings Ken & Bryan into the mix .. we're all baffled at this point.
I have to say I'm impressed with the level of customer service and amount of individuals involved. They took it to the top (on phone & in store) and ultimately, I got the credit for the item through a loop hole where it was basically cashed out & they put those funds right back on credit card for me in store. It took some time but I was willing to patiently wait to get that $800 back!
In short, thank you Andrew, Emily, Ken and Bryan for your time, customer service & loop hole that made this possible & made me want to return to your store! I appreciate...
Read moreHad what we were looking for. Including hard to find hardware we've been trying to locate. Very helpful staff. Felt a little uncomfortable at times though. Just a little security side note. Management might want to tell loss prevention staff that they were obvious in their ogling of us the whole time that we were in the store. Don't appreciate the being stereotyped or feeling alienated. Yes, a i really am that fat. No, that's all me and not your merchandise in my pants. Good thing I Didn't steal THIS TIME, so I wasn't too concerned.LOL. Starsky, Hutch or maybe Colombo should have known that I'm a loyal honest paying patron, and I haven't stolen anything ever, Well, since that pack of Hubba Bubba when I was 5. :). Barney Fife and Paul Blart must have had the day off. They know me there and serious have backed the.. off. A little more inconspicuousness in your surveillance may bag more Cleptos and keep the costs down for us hands-in-our- pockets, paying customers. The rest of staff are really nice people. Read moreI have done alot of work on my homes over the past 20 years. Over the past 8 years have spent a lot of time at the Portage Home Depot and have developed a relationship with a few workers, specifically Tracy, Cole and Frank. Tracy, God bless her, has helped me in any department I need help in. She usually works the front desk, but will drop everything to go wherever in the store to make sure I get what I came for. She never complains or tries to send me to another associate. She's there to help and you know it. Cole is a wonderful kid. He sticks with you to assist in getting everything your project needs, and will go through the entire store with you to make sure you do (and even loads it all in your car). An extremely pleasant young man, with a good strong moral fiber. And then there's Frank, who always seems to be there when you have a question. Always kind, with a sweet little smile....
