Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Portage

Although I hate to do this, traveling all day and making it back home late at night, we had very few options as to where to eat. Fortunately, Penn Station, which I have never patronized in the past was open. We were reluctant to go on in and place an order because from the outside of the store looking in, it appeared that they had already cleaned up the store and grill and were ready to shut err down for the evening. It was the last 20-30 minutes before closing. We were starving having driven all day and looking for a good bite. Any bite. Besides the rubber burgers served at the clown with orange hair's joint down the street, We decided to go on into Penn Station and see if we could get a couple of sandwiches to go. I expected 1 of 2 things. Either a bad attitude or just a flat-out, "no sorry, we're closed". Gratefully, the staff was receptive and not taken back by our timing and graciously took our order. The sandwiches came out super hot and oh so tasty. The manager and cook that night were super. We really appreciate their patience and hard work in providing excellent service and great steak sandwiches. Great experience all around. I'll be patronizing this place all the time. I definitely recommend...

Normally, Penn Station gets my best reviews, but lately I have found it disappointing.

Even if I walk in right when they open, almost all the tables are already dirt! How is this even possible? I mean, in today’s world, how can a restaurant not be clean, and get away with it?! This goes for multiple locations, not just this one.

Last two time at this location, my sub bread was broken on the bottom, making it so my tip and bottom bun is apart. Mainly a personal thing, but I very dislike that. (It’s like when you get a hot dog in a bun and the bun has seperated).

Cost! Cost has gone up dramatically and so I will probably not be able to eat here anymore. Unfortunately….

No stars would be what I would like to post but I am not able. We waited for almost 30 minutes for a sandwich, brought it home and it had no meat. Called and was asked to bring sandwich back in, no I am sorry it was incorrect or anything like that. Drove back in and brought our sandwich they inspected it and yep no meat, again no apology. Was told people try and get free food so they needed to see it and the worker seemed very inconvenienced that I was asking for another sandwich. Handed us the sandwich and finally was told sorry an hour after we had ordered. Very disappointed in customer service and attitude of workers. We will make sure to go somewhere else...
