Cozy game store. Atmosphere is warm and whimsical. They have a patio area with a covered tent if you would like to play outside. Employees will gladly join you for a game or two when they aren't manning the counter. They will also let you host special events as long as it doesn't fall on one of their scheduled game nights. For my party, they let me have the whole back patio and have goats. They have a collection of games that you can play in store. If you'd like to try a game at home, you can also pay a small fee to rent a game. Magic the Gathering players be warned, they only sell packs and not singles.

Great place to buy high quality puzzles (ex: Pomegranate brand) and the $5 used puzzles are a steal! Good selection of classic board and card games as well, and a rental program ($5/3 night period). As if that’s not amazing enough, they also offer a frequent buyer punch card: spend $20 ten times and get $25 store credit. Make sure you make the walk around the corner from the main strip of Sellwood and stop in here. The staff members are friendly and happy to answer questions on any of the games. I’ve loved learning and playing Wingspan!

My friends and I rent games from here every weekend! It's a great affordable way to try out games before investing in them, and if you buy and game you rented first you get a couple bucks off the one you buy! We've already bought two games we tried first, and dodged a few that we thought we would love but didn't. Makes for a great weekend plan, and a great way to buy gifts knowing Exactly what you're getting. The store itself is super cute, clean, and full of fun stuff for people of all ages. Parking is tricky but worth it!

This is our family’s favorite game store for so many reasons. Foremost, because of the atmosphere of the store. It feels warm without being schmalzy, hip but not gimmicky, friendly but not overly familiar.

The team members who work here are passionate about board games and very knowledgeable about options without being pushy. Their advice is very helpful when making a decision, because there are so many wonderful choices! I was delighted to receive recommendations from a woman on the team who was completely accurate about suggestions for our party size, complexity, and game duration.

Most recently, we held a birthday party here and rented their side room… and it could not have been more perfect! We bought a few games and played one off the rental shelf during the celebration. The space was just the right size for our party. We brought in some delightful snacks from Jade across the way, and fun was had by all.

One of the coolest things about Cloudcap is their game rental program… Very reasonable rates, and the cost of your rental is applied towards your purchase. So smart, because I have definitely bought the game after returning my rental.

Lastly, over the years, we have had consistently positive experiences at Cloudcap in the time we have visited. The staff treats our family of color with professionalism and courtesy. We feel like we are welcomed and supported here. It also feels like a family-friendly community. If you’re interested in board games, you belong here. I wish this store was in my neighborhood!

Sadly, we have not always had this positive experience in other board game venues, especially when my kids were younger. At that time, the children were very interested in Pokemon. After a few experiences in other stores ranging from uncomfortable to rude (especially Salem), we came to Cloudcap to round out decks and for special purchases (giant pokemon card, anyone?!) and the Cloudcap team responded with excitement and enthusiasm to my sons’ interest. They won me over with the way they talked to my kids and their genuine shared delight with the game.

Thank you for being...

Cloud cap games is where it's at!!! If you like games and puzzles, this is the place to go. The variety is fantastic, and spans all ages and subjects. The prices are fair and reasonable. The shop is easy to navigate, and always clean and organised. The staff is what makes this place above and beyond and over the top the best. They somehow seem to know everything, and I never feel like I'm an imposition for asking questions. They are friendly, very knowledgeable, and work hard to keep everyone's experience enjoyable. Cloud Cap also has used games available to buy (which means they also buy games, if you've got a lot of games sitting around you're thinking of getting rid of), and a good selections of used games for rent! It's 1000% worth checking out, and I highly recommend it if you're in the area. Tens tens tens across the...

This place is awesome! The staff is super knowledgeable and fun. They have a really cool selection of games you can rent before you buy. It's (as of today 12/17/17) it was $5 for three nights and you can put the rental price towards purchase of a game. One of the staff approached us and made really helpful recommendations. When we had questions about a game he popped a rental open and walked us through the game mechanics. He was funny and engaging and really made the game sound fun. We ended up buying a different one, but we'll definitely be back. Seemed like a really cool scene there too, lots of people playing and having fun. It was well-lit and felt like a warmer environment than the other game store we've been to in town. Definitely...
