I’ve been in this shop several times it’s certainly a staple in the experience that is downtown Portsmouth HOWEVER there is more to this place than just the unique and beautiful items throughout the store. I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with who I believe to be the owners of the store. I fell in love with a ring that with my luck didn’t fit. There was a very friendly woman behind the counter who offered to go above and beyond to find another ring my size that I could fall in love with. The time and effort this couple put into helping me find the perfect ring is the rarest occurrence especially in todays society. It’s so unexpected to find people that go above and beyond for a stranger for little expected benefits of their own. Brie and Chris have to be two of the nicest shop owners in Portsmouth. If you want to shop local this holiday you have to stop into Prelude. My husband and I just recently married in Prescott Park. Being from Portsmouth we knew we wanted everything to be local and I knew exactly where to head for my jewelry. When I walked I was greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Brie and Chris. They helped me pick out the perfect matching set made by local artist Julia Jasmin Barrett. They even shared their own incredible wedding story with me and I left with a heartfelt candle they picked out and gifted to me. I am absolutely in love with this shop! Located n the heart of downtown Portsmouth it exudes what the city is all about...it has heart, charm, character and diverse choices of jewelry and accessories...each one more gorgeous than the next! Brie has curated the most beautiful shop and her window displays are second to none! The shop is cozy and welcoming and thoughtfully laid out. There is something for everybody and every budget. Prelude and it's owner are true gems! One of my all time favorite shops...
