Elkmont Trading Company — Local services in Powdersville

Found this company online, as they were the only store that carried a particular western style, somewhat pricey belt that my 23 year old son had asked for for Christmas. Parents out there, if you have a child this age, you know, it is very difficult to get them to pin anything down that they want. Placed my order in mid December and received a confirmation email the same day. Was so proud of myself and my purchase and looking forward to seeing my son’s excitement on Christmas. Didn’t think much about it until it was the week before Christmas and I still hadn’t received the belt yet. Panicked, I searched my email. Buried deep in it was a message that I had overlooked. It had come two days after I ordered the belt, advising that the belt was now OUT OF STOCK !!!! Btw, I am disabled, so it is difficult for me to get out to go shopping. I now had three days to get something ordered to replace this present for my son. I understand things happen, but what kind of establishment are you guys running? My wife and I have been to this location twice and both times we received excellent service. In both instances were had arrived a few minutes before closing. We normally try to not do that because we understand the stress that put on employees that are ready to be off of work. The employees that we encountered could not have been any nicer or helpful if they tried to be. It was two different employees and I really wish that we would have recorded their names so that they could receive the praise. I was shopping for a pair of shoes and my wife was looking for clothing. These employees were extremely helpful and went into the back room a few times for me looking for shoes sizes. I try to support local places but I didn't enjoy this place very much. They need to decide who they want to be. The clothing for women feels like a high-end boutique. The clemson section has decent stuff, but they put their own logo, so it's not authentic clemson stuff. There was also gear on the sign, but that's a stretch for sure.
