If you're looking for a new CrossFit gym, Merit is hands down the best in the area. I might be a little bias, but I've also been coming here for almost 5 years, so there is definitely something to be said about longevity and consistency at the same gym. CrossFit, to me, is not just a workout regimen, but a lifestyle. From warming up to stretching, to diet and nutrition, this gym focuses on every detail to maximize your safety and performance during a given workout. The emphasis at Merit is on technique and not torture. The workouts are hard, yes, but anyone can do them with the appropriate scaling. The programming is also done with a purpose and long term goal in mind, and can be tailored to an athletes specific needs. Whether you just want to get moving and sweat a little, or you're looking to max out your heaviest lift and qualify for the next CrossFit Games, Merit has you covered. And since the coaches decide what exercises to do for the day, I only need to follow through instead of coming up with my own stuff. If itās hard for me, I just scale it down. And everyone tells me that I do a good job, so I donāt beat myself up for not giving a 120% to it. After all, itās the persistence, rather than intensity, that really leads to body transformation. Again, every penny...
