I have seen Mushroomhead twice here, The Browning, One Eyed Doll, Sunflower Dead, and a few other local/smaller bands that have slipped my memory. Each show was an amazing performance and a spectacular time.
First off, this is a very secure place, valet parking for around $10, which is worth it because street parking is tough to find. There is security officer on duty to pat down people who enter. All of the staff are friendly and helpful.
My personal opinion, this small type of venue is the best place to see a live show. The GA floor is small and has random poles that kind of stomp out mosh pits but I have seen some attempts. There is no barrier or space between the crowd and the stage, meaning you can get really close to the band.
The acoustics are outstanding, all of the bands that I have seen perform at this venue sounded amazing. The occasional mishap with some sound frequencies but that only happened like 3 or 4 times collectively over the course of all the bands that I saw. Overall the sound is heavy and clear as day.
Also the bathrooms are really nice. They look semi new, kind of fancy, and very clean. That is always a good sign of quality management and excellent work ethic of its employees.
Would definitely recommend this venue, eapecially if one of your favorite bands are playing there. The first time I saw Mushroomhead at the Fête, only like 30 people showed up and Mushroomhead a free meet and greet after the show. Once in a lifetime experience that you will most likely not be able to find anywhere else around here without...
Read moreIf there was an option for negative stars this place would definitely get it. Came here for a hardcore show for my birthday. Was 2 or 3 rows of people from the stage and in between sets the crowd started pushing and shoving, I got shoved into a girl in front of me and, assuming, her boyfriend proceeded to turn around and punch me in the face, breaking my nose. Blood pouring from my face and they shove me towards the barricade to have security grab me out, the security guard proceeds to grab me from behind, by my breasts to lift me out, not under my armpits like most other venues from the front, nope dude straight up threw my arms up, grabbed my chest and proceeded to yank me out of the crowd scraping my back along the guardrail in the process leaving it scratched and bruised. I was the escorted out of the building and told I was being kicked out. No reason was given but I was escorted out of the building, when I asked to speak to a manager about the security guard that thought it was open season to grab my breasts I was told I needed to leave or I’d be arrested for trespassing. The detail officer then walked over asking if there was a problem and I just walked away at that point. My friend also got roofied that night so take that as you will. Don’t even bother...
Read moreIt's a funky, wild crazy spot loved by locals and known by travelers from neighboring states. Last night I was there to see Twiddle (who totally jammed btw) but I have been here for Stephen Marley and Chronnixx concerts as well.( Also totally jammed) The dance floor gets jammed pack, and slippery since of course everyone is dancing and drinking so I prefer to pick a spot on by the railing on the balcony where I can get a great view of the artist on stage as well as the pure insanity on the dancefloor. There's also a bar right behind you up there and some couches if you dare to lounge . The drinks are pricey $13 for a red bull and stoli but it was well made they didn't skimp on the booze. I recommend being dropped off and picked up as parking for the actual hall is tight and fills fast. And parking around the hall though plentiful is a scary task as it is dark and the neighborhood is "sketchy" All in all I always have a great time. I am always surprised by the caliber of artists they attract. And the staff is professional though not overly friendly. I do have to close by saying although smoke free there is always some idiots smoking cigarettes and as for marijuana... I came sober and left with a...
