Analog Underground — Local services in Providence

We were in RI for a couple of days and spent an afternoon hopping around a few record stores. Analog Underground was our favorite stop. This isn’t an overwhelming selection of vinyl, but rather was quality over quantity. You could tell it was a deliberately curated collection and within a few minutes I was already carrying around a stack. My wife found some gems in the CD rack and they had probably the best bargain bin I’ve ever seen.

The owner Dave was great to talk to. We came in about a half hour before closing and I asked him for a few records I was hoping to find, and he went and dug around in the back to see if he had what I was looking for (we ended up walking out of there with a few more records than expected). I ordered through Discpal so I'm not reviewing the physical location. I was looking to get three 4 AD reissues of Dead Can Dance. Tryin' to find them from one shop for bulk shipping. It was between two shops and AuGold had exponentially more 100% reviews and transactions so I went here. $6.75 for shipping 4 discs total (one double, two single lp's). $6.00 for the first record. $.25 each additional. A great selection of carefully curated records from around the world spanning many genres. Dave is super friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. He loves to talk about the story behind the record, introducing me to cool sounds I've never heard before and exposing me to exclusive new stuff from artists I already know.
