Last night's author event at Quail Ridge Books was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the staff exuded warmth and genuine enthusiasm. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, making everyone feel welcome and at ease. It's clear they love books and fostering a community around them. Beyond the exceptional service, Quail Ridge Books itself is a gem. It's a beautiful bookstore, thoughtfully laid out and incredibly well-organized, making browsing a true pleasure. And for those looking for the perfect gift for a book lover (or themselves!), they have a fantastic selection of unique and charming items. The highlight of the evening, of course, was the event with Nita Prose. The book talk was engaging and well-structured, allowing us to delve into her writing process and the inspiration behind her stories. But what truly made the evening special was Nita Prose herself! Not only is she a talented storyteller on the page, but she's also a wonderfully entertaining speaker. Her anecdotes were captivating and so insightful. She truly brought her stories to life in a unique and engaging way. Quail Ridge Books provided the perfect setting for this event. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting, allowing for a real connection between the author and the audience. It's clear that this bookstore is more than just a place to buy books; it's a hub for literary enthusiasts and a vital part of the community. If you're looking for a fantastic bookstore with knowledgeable and friendly staff, a beautiful browsing experience, and engaging author events, look no further than Quail Ridge Books. Last night was a testament to everything they do so well. We can't wait to return for another...

Quail Ridge has been my indie/local bookstore for a couple of years now, and they have never disappointed. As a matter of fact, they always go above and beyond. Everyone I've met that works there is so kind, ready to help, offer recommendations, and with a level of care/joy/consideration that is not easy to find these days. Special shout out to Emily as my daughter and I absolutely adore her! Some things they have you may be interested in: staff picks where staff read and offer their unspoiled review/recommendation, blind date with a book where books are wrapped with good descriptions of what the book is about on the front so you can make an informed decision, book clubs, an annual membership that gives you discounts, author events, and many special events offered throughout the year. I'm sure I'm missing things. Haha My favorite is their author events where there is usually a Q&A with the author and sometimes an author signing. I have been to almost 10 and each one is well organized and a great time! Last but not least, check out their website where you can request signed books from some of the local authors...

The main reason I'm leaving a review is due to the inclusiveness of this store and it's unique selection of books. Quail Ridge Books offers not only Christian books but Islamic, Judaism, Eastern practices & the Metaphysical and it's all under ONE label - Religion. I greatly appreciate their including old world practices under the Religion category. Most mainstream bookstores (lookin at you Barnes & Noble) keep the Metaphysical and Christianity separate, labeling one as a Religion and the other as "self transformation".

If you are looking for a bookstore with a wide selection of Metaphysical books, what they have to offer is outstanding. They have someone who personally curates the Metaphysical and mythology sections so I saw plenty of new books I'd never seen in other stores. Definitely check it out. Also, their LGBTQIA+ section is pretty big compared to other stores I've been in.

To sum up, this is a cute little store that's cozy and welcoming no matter who or what you are! It's got plenty of tiny reading nooks and an area for kids. You'll feel right at home, lost among the books at...
