I decided to book a block of rooms at the AC Hotel North Hills location for my wedding last month, and overall had a positive experience!

When asking my guests for feedback on their stay, the majority of them said they loved it. They felt like it was close to everything they needed (coffee shops, stores, entertainment, restaurants, etc.) and they really enjoyed the Level7 Rooftop Bar. They felt like the people at the front desk were extremely kind and professional, and also very helpful with addressing any of their needs. They did mention that it got a little noisy at night (especially if you got a room facing the Capital Grille) and found it odd that a lot of their rooms weren't anywhere near each other - most room blocks they have been a part of were typically located in the same wings/floors of a hotel but that was not the case here. Other than that, they all had excellent stays!

In terms of my experience with blocking off rooms with the hotel, I would say it was mostly positive. Blocking off the rooms themselves was really easy, and I felt like Angel was extremely helpful when answering all of my questions and providing us with a block of rooms that would be appropriate for the number of guests we were expecting. However, there were a few minor issues that came up as we got closer to our wedding: Several guests reached out to me a couple months before our wedding and said that our link was no longer working - turns out that all the rooms we had blocked off were booked up. When I inquired about adding more rooms to our contract, another sales coordinator reached out saying that they could not (although I was previously told that we could based on availability at the hotel). I asked if there was a way to write up a new room block contract or at least honor the same rate for additional guests who wished to book, and was ghosted. It's one thing to respond to me with a "no" or at least offer some sort of solution, but I felt like being completely ignored was unacceptable especially in a hospitality business. We had booked a shuttle for our guests to transport them from the hotel to our venue. When inquiring about getting signage put up in the hotel lobby for our guests to know when the shuttle would be departing, we were told that we couldn't due to "Marriott standard" and suggested we print out cards with that information instead to be handed out to guests. However, we also booked rooms at the AC Hotel on Glenwood and they were able to put up signage no problem. Once again, a little odd that they couldn't accommodate this and we've stayed at several Marriotts for weddings who had transportation signage up for guests. We had gift bags for our guests. Although this information was communicated to the staff at the front desk by the sales team, it seemed like some of them didn't get the memo. We had several guests who didn't get their gift bags and physically had to ask for them, which I also found unacceptable especially when there was an agreed upon drop off time and the bags were labeled specifically for anyone who booked through our wedding party link. It just added another thing for us to worry about hours before our wedding when we already had a lot to deal with.

Once again, to summarize, my guests all had really great experiences and look forward to staying at the AC Hotel at North Hills the next time they're in town. Although blocking off rooms was simple and prices were very reasonable, I felt like the lack of accommodations and being ignored left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. If you're someone looking to block off rooms for a wedding and aren't planning on having gift bags or shuttles, then I'd highly recommend booking this hotel. However, if you are, then be prepared to inform your guests yourself about shuttle departure times, and personally handing them a gift bag since many of our guests didn't get theirs...

My experience was honestly terrible. This is the second time staying at this particular property and when I arrived for check in I realized when speaking to the front desk that I had accidentally booked the wrong location in the same city. I had booked my stay back in December, so my original rate was $1083 for 4 nights. The north hills location was the hotel an event for work was being held as well as where many of my work friends were staying. I asked the front desk to let me know what it would be it would cost if I were to cancel my other reservation and re book at the North Hills one and he started doing some math and came up with $1094 which I was honestly shocked but wasn’t going to argue. I called the other location and explained the situation and they were so kind and cancelled my original reservation and I re booked with AC North Hills. The “supervisor” was standing behind the man helping me and overlooked everything before my charge was completed. When I got up to my room I had an email receipt for $1580.98 and a credit card charge for $1780. I immediately called the front desk and asked why the amount was so different than what I had been told. The man who booked my room was a total smart ass and told me that it was for incidentals which was $50 per night- I explained to him that that math still didn’t add up correctly and he said it was probably taxes (which still wouldn’t add up correctly). He said he would have his supervisor call me back. About 30min later I went down to the front desk and the supervisor was so rude and unhelpful and said “so what do you want to do? Check out?” I explained that I really wanted to stay at this location but I wouldn’t have agreed to it for $500 additional than my original reservation and that I would have just commuted if I had in fact been told that it was so much more and that I had been told $1093 and he was right there and confirmed it. The man who had originally booked my reservation chimed in and said he said $1900 which is a TOTAL and complete bold faced lie. There is noooo way I would have agreed to stay there and that math absolutely does not equate to any of the charges so he was just speaking nonsense at that point. The “supervisor” finally told me he would help me and re did some math and came up with $983 (which again , I was shocked because that’s even less than I was originally paying) but said thank you so much and asked if I needed to sign anything to confirm the price change. He said no and assured me everything would be taken care of. For some reason I had a gut feeling that was not the case. The next morning I went to the front desk and asked them if the price had been changed because I hadn’t received an email or anything confirming the change and they said they had no idea what I was talking about and there were no changes or notations on my account. They told me they would look into it and email me. 8 hours later after getting back to the hotel from a work class I asked again, still nothing and nobody knew what I was talking about. The girl at the front desk was very kind and helpful and about 30min later had spoken to the manager and they said the best they could do was $1165.91 which I agreed to and thanked them. The front desk receptionist who helped me and the man who claimed to be the supervisor should both be terminated for their dishonest and negligence to properly do their job. I am absolutely appalled by their lack of customer service and utter and...

I've stayed at an AC Hotel before, so I'm familiar with the brand and sought this hotel out to extend my trip for one night in May. The building is brand new and everything inside was lovely, very shiny and clean! I didn't spend any time at the bar, just took a look around, but it seemed nice and if the weather was better I would've wanted to spend more time on the seventh floor patio, it was very cool. I was especially impressed with the AC Library, a quiet little space for working with computers, conference rooms and swivel chairs with USB ports in the chairs! That's one thing about AC Hotels that I really like: they put USB ports and outlets everywhere so you can charge all your devices. I requested a room with a bathtub and got an accessible room, which was fine with me--AC rooms tend to be small, so I got the bathtub I wanted and a little extra space. I'm a fan of the neroli-scented amenities and was able to request more using the Marriott app. Some negatives are that the bathroom fan is loud--and since the door to the bathroom is a swingy glass door with a rather large gap all around, the sound travels to the bedroom. Its annoying and makes having a conversation pretty difficult. The air conditioning is also quite loud. Also, there are no clocks in the room--they should add something on the nightstand, this is something I expect to have in any hotel. Also, even though I was in a room that sleeps more than two, the amount of cups and towels seemed to be set up for just two people. I felt that the location of the hotel was a bit misleading. As someone not from the area, this hotel is across the street from the North Hills shopping area; it's in a more residential/office development. I was expecting to be able to walk to the movie theater and to meals, but ended up having to drive because I didn't want to have to walk across that major road late at night, or in the summer heat. Kudos to Dylan at the front desk for a speedy check in and for getting everything I asked for through the Marriott app. I requested and received a late check out. Lastly, my rate included bonus loyalty points which I have not yet received, though points have posted for the stay itself. I would recommend this hotel, I had a comfortable stay and would return if hotel promotions and my...
