This feedback is as much for Marriott as a whole today as this particular hotel, as my recent stay reflects my recent travel experiences.
The hotel is ok and my stay was just ok, 2.5 stars feels about right. I’ve stayed here 5-6 times in the past couple months because I have a new job in the area and will be traveling there every other week for the foreseeable future. I like North Hills because of all the restaurant and shopping options. My complaint is with all the little things I experienced here and recently at numerous Marriott properties. Ironically, I’ve traveled more the past year than ever due to the new job and stay almost exclusively in Marriotts. I’m lifetime Platinum and have already hit Titanium this year.
I’ve tried to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt due to the location, but I’m ready to try a different property. Still no concierge lounge. Still no room cleaning. Restaurant is understaffed and has a limited menu. The big public fitness center next door is fine, but I’d still expect an onsite option worthy of this brand. Finally started putting coffee out in the morning, but not until 7 am. No bottled water in the rooms. Fridge cools to room temperature. My room this time had no soap at all. The little white chair in the rooms are uncomfortable, and just strange. Front desk staff is mostly uninterested. I stayed here when the hotel was mostly empty, requested an upgrade and was told there was nothing available, even though the website had many options available to book. Now I don’t even bother to ask after being turned down repeatedly. A bunch of little things that normally would be fine, but added up and in the broader context of Marriott disappointing at every hotel it all becomes a big let down. Now the hotel is full again, rates are creeping back up yet it’s still lacking.
I don’t want to sound petulant but it just doesn’t seem like Marriott cares. At this point, there is no excuse for concierge lounges, restaurants, coffee shops, and house keeping to be closed or not on regular schedules. I am completely sympathetic to how Covid affected the industry, especially the workers. But honestly I just don’t understand why I continue...
Read moreEnglish version: Horrible experience! We put my clothes in the only washing machine available in the entire Renaissance-Raleigh NH, NC hotel, and when we went to dry them, we couldn't find a single item of clothing. The floor was wet, and the water dispenser on the washing machine was out of the hole, the employee noticed. My friend spoke to the executive on duty, and he took a week to investigate and tell us he didn't know what happened. Know this, it's not easy to be sure in the middle of the night that you just dry your clothes and open the washing machine, and there's nothing. This is not easy to swallow. It's frustrating! Imagine if a person was assaulted inside the laundry room and no one knew who came in or who came out, and they just told you "Oh yeah, person XY is in a coma, we don't know what happened, that's the end of the story!" No! That answer is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Since when do things just disappear like that, and then I'm not given any reason? It's not right.
It terrifies me to know that a hotel like that does not have an effective security system that offers a basic security service, that at least serves to keep track of things, and that they cannot buy a simple camera with which to track the activities of the laundry, that potentially any night, a single person could naively become a victim of a crime. It is not justified! How is it possible that a hotel of that size ignores such an important need today? I can not understand it. I can't believe that this is left like this, and I end up empty-handed. That answer is not enough for me, and I will not rest easy. Someone took those pieces without a doubt, it is not fair that I lose my clothes, I do not accept it. I have stayed in many hotels and something like this has never happened to me, especially in a hotel like this; there are pieces that have a special value for me, therefore in terms of responsibility, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. You do not know how devastated I am. I promise that many will know about this to report anyone who wears my clothes," I will publish at least one piece and many will know about my experience so that they take the precaution that I did not take and do not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived until the end of my stay, the hotel exceeded all expectations, making me feel like royalty in the midst of a bustling city.
I visited Raleigh for the Dreamville concert, with a staggering 150,000 people in town and the hotel completely sold out. Despite the high demand and the sheer volume of guests, the staff at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel managed to create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort that truly made me feel like a king.
The service at this hotel was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that all guests felt welcomed and well taken care of. From the seamless check-in process to the personalized recommendations for local attractions and dining options, every interaction with the staff was a delight.
The room itself was a sanctuary of relaxation. Impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay, it provided a peaceful retreat after a long day of exploring the city and attending the concert. The attention to detail in the room design and the quality of the furnishings truly set this hotel apart.
The hotel's location in the vibrant North Hills area added to the overall appeal of my stay. With a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options just steps away, I was able to immerse myself in the local culture and make the most of my time in Raleigh.
In conclusion, my experience at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the challenges posed by the high volume of guests in town for the concert, the hotel managed to deliver a level of service and comfort that exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable...
