Let me begin by saying, I realize that social distancing is not as prevalent now as it was this time a couple years ago. However, when I go to a restaurant, I do not expect to be seated so close to someone in another party that my elbow is literally touching their elbow. This is exactly what happened at Bonefish Grill in North Hills, Raleigh NC on the evening of 2/11/2023. The preceding along with the ensuing events made our experience at this particular Bonefish Grill a horrible one. We had a reservation for a party of 4 at 8pm. Upon arriving and checking in, we were eventually seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant which was basically a row of tables tightly nestled next to each other with no space in between them. In trying to sit down, members of our party had to literally squeeze themselves behind the chairs of other diners to get to their seat. Upon sitting down, we noticed that the end of our table was slanted downwards; so much so that a glass would easily slide off, if it was not appropriately supported. At this point, we returned to the hostess stand and inquired about moving to another table. We were informed by an employee named Jordan and 2 other hostesses that there were no other available tables. However, if we wanted to wait, we could move to another table when one became available. We acknowledged this and returned to our table where the other members of our party had requested to speak to the manager. We informed the manager that we were displeased with the seating arrangements; especially the slanted table. She impolitely informed us that it was a leaf and all the tables in the restaurant were the same as our table. Once again, we acknowledged this and continued to wait for our server. During this time, we observed another party leave a booth that was in close proximity to our table. We returned to the hostess stand yet again and inquired about moving to another table; particularly the booth that just became available. This time were told by the manager that moving to another table was not allowed. She further explained that once we were seated, our reservation was erased. What this has to do with us requesting to be moved to another table, I don’t know. However, we attempted to explain to her that 3 of the hostesses at the hostess all said that we could move to another table once one became available. Again, the manager rudely said that we could not move to another table. We then informed her that we would not be dining under these circumstances and chose to find another dining venue. Upon leaving, I asked the manager what her name was so I could follow up with her manager and she harshly replied, Shay. I responded by asking what her last name was and she nastily said Shay. While all of this was going on, members of the party seated next to us were also inquiring about moving to another table and they were told the same as we were told. I’m not sure what Bonefish Grill’s seating policy is, but I would hope that it is not one that doesn’t allow diners to change to another table if they are dissatisfied. With all that being said, I hope that this review causes the upper management team of this Bonefish Grill to: 1) review their seating policy to ensure the safety and comfort of diners and 2) to train their employees, particularly Shay Shay (pun intended, since she sarcastically told me her first and last name was “Shay”) on effective communication and how to respectfully communicate with diners. Needless to say, I don’t think I will be returning to the North Hills location of Bonefish Grill anytime in the near future and I urge anyone reading this review to seriously consider other dining venues before choosing this one if you value safety, privacy, and respectful...
Read moreI really had a "horrible" experience here tonight. Went into this establishment to give an honest review so here it goes. I purposely dressed down just to see if what I was hearing about the place was accurate. And just to be clear they were true.
I went right in and walked up to the hostess, where I was greeted by Salima (hope I spelled it right) and a not so friendly Ashley ( learned her name while leaving out). I requested a booth which immediately, Ashley says we don't have any while looking down in a basket. I informed Salima that I didn't mind waiting for an available one.
Ashley then gets a menu out and tells me to follow her. She takes me to a table in the middle of the floor (totally ignoring my request). I kindly told her that I wanted a booth. She rolled her eyes and said very nasty and cold we don't have any. I then said to her, I offered to wait for one, which she then said well that's going to be 30 minutes! Totally ignoring the fact that I said I would wait.
She sucked her teeth and proceeded to walk away. I followed her to the front to wait which she said very rudely, well go have a seat over there and wait! I turned around to go where she pointed but then realized I hadn't given her my name. I turned around and asked her did she want to know my name and she said in a very cold tone "No, I'll find you"!
I then asked for her managers name which she pointed to the cards on the table. Honestly, at this point I was ready to go, but I did come to review the place. As I waited to be seated a very nice gentleman by the name of Nick approached me and introduced himself.
I told him what happened (which he apologized for the treatment I received) and then gave me the okay to sit at the bar which had some small booths. As we were talking Salima walks up and I asked her for Ashley's name (at the time I didn't know it) and would you believe she looked me in my face and said "I have no idea who you're talking about!!)
I couldn't believe it! She's been working beside the girl all night and now she lies in my face and Nick's face as well. I couldn't believe the treatment I was receiving from these girls.
Nick then left and came back with bread, water and the menus to start an order. I would love to tell you all about the food, but guess what? I NEVER GOT TO ORDER A THING! I sat at the table waiting for someone to come take my order but no one ever came. And I was ready to chow down! I intentionally didn't eat a thing because I knew I had to do a review.
I already knew what I was ordering so I just sat there waiting for someone to come up to me. I was looked over like I wasn't even there. I tried to give them time to come over but no one ever came. I then got up to ask Salima if anyone was going to come to me and her words were "oh we are looking for someone for you" and then proceeded to talk with the girl who she told me she didn't know when I asked for her name.
At this point I had seen and had enough. I wouldn't spend a penny in this place after the treatment I received. What's so sad is Ashley and Salima "judged" me by my looks and my attire. In this day and age no one should be judged by that and if they didn't do that well they sure made me feel like they did. Everyone should be treated "EQUALLY".
I wouldn't patronize this location if it was the last business open in the area. The hostesses need some serious training on how to deal with different people, etiquette and customer service skills. They are the face of your business and with them being at the front, they will ruin...
Read moreAfter a long day, I wanted something better than drive-thru fast food.
Bonefish Grill came up in my search and I decided I would order a couple of appetizers. I was right across the parking lot when I put in the order and just figured I would wait there, then pull up to the curbside pickup when I got the notification.
I ordered the Lobster Bisque and Imperial Dip.
Nine minutes after placing my order, I received the “ Your Bonefish Raleigh NC order is almost ready! Let us know when you arrive! Check-in…” message.
I pulled into a curbside pickup space and clicked the link. I put my space and waited. After more than 10 minutes. I clicked the link again and waited about 5 more minutes.
I then decided to walk inside. I was greeted by the hostess. She asked for my name when I said I was there for a pickup order. She said “We don’t have that order, maybe you put it in at the wrong location.”
I was on the website where it said if you have problems with your order, call this number. I asked her what the phone number to that location was, and she replied, “I don’t know off the top of my head.” I scrolled up on the page and showed her that I was at the right location. She pulled up something on a screen and said she could see it. She asked me what I ordered and said “we can make it, but it’ll be 15… 20 minutes.
Horrible service. No one said anything to make the situation better. I was hungry, but I should have cancelled the order. A better explanation or better communication would have been great.
When I finally got home, the food was not good. The Lobster Bisque was cold, and it tasted horrible. I had about 3 spoonfuls before I tossed it. The imperial dip...
