Coming from another state to Reading a few years back, RACC definitely wasn't my first choice for college. However, this is what I took away from RACC. It's been 5 years, thus far since I graduated from there. I met my now fiancée at RACC who also graduated from there. I learned a lot of different studies from my professors and got a great understanding of the field of psychology. Professors will strongly suggest you to do the coursework to understand the material just like the university. There's only so much they can do to help you without holding your hand. So, you have to put in alot of effort into what you are doing. Here's why it feels like a 13th grade for high schoolerst because RACC also gives you an idea of the path you want to take since the education is in your hands through their programs you choose to do the work. College might not be for everyone, but it will surely tell you if it's for you. & there's dual enrollment for transferring from high school to RACC and from RACC to other 4 year colleges. I went to KU and got my Bachelor's in Psych. With about 4-5 years of work experience under me, RACC showed me what I was capable of because I didn't think college was for me. So don't discredit the school because of where its located, you'll find that anywhere. Take control of your college education because those days of your parents coming to talk to your teachers about your grades becomes you talking to your professors. & know the grades you get are a reflection of the work you...
Read moreThis was the last school in the world I wanted to attend, but having 3 school aged kids and a limited available schedule, I found that it was my only option. Upon enrolling I realized just how nice the school is. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and are always willing to help in any way they can. The education isn't mediocre either. I've met people that have transferred to a 4 yr. college from RACC and they told me some classes from RACC were more demanding and difficult that the ones they took in the 4 yr. college. Lastly, the cost of education at this school is very cheap, especially if you take in to consideration the quality level of education you receive while in attendance. If you're looking for a school to do minimal work just to receive a degree, this isn't the school for you (They expect you to work for your grades). However, if you're looking for a good school, with knowledgeable teachers and staff, a quality education that stands up to the rest, and tuition that doesn't cost a fortune; this school is exactly what you've been looking for! The only negative aspect I've found so far is the location... Other than that you won't be...
Read more@chris vasquez first of all, it's college, it is not free. that money that you pay for your tuition, you don't decide what the school does with it that is their choice. They don't have to tell you anything. Second of all, RACC does a good job weeding out the people who don't care about their education especially those who just come to school for no reason. That's why the pre-college classes are incorporated there. If you test into the pre-college course and fail them, blame yourself. The staff is very helpful as opposed to the university I attended previously. All of my professors have been helpful and they want you to succeed. You are the one coming to school. YOU have to put the effort in. The professors can help you but not if you aren't willing to work with them and carry your weight. You are the one that wants to graduate and succeed. This school is very helpful and after I get my associate's here next year, I am transferring. The only thing bad about RACC is that it is in the city of Reading, but this is the best part of Reading. Otherwise, please give this...
