I went I for an oil change and transmission flush. Was quoted for 4 new tires at $1500 to replace the same ones I had on already. Found them cheaper and several other places. Then was asked about an oil pan and valve cover gaskets at over a $3K repair price. I asked to see the issue about the gaskets and admit they needed to be replaced. Their labor is high and they also asked about my air filter which I was not going to pay them $49 to replace an air filter which I bought at an auto parts store for $23. I got home went to replace the air filter and it was hardly dirty. I donāt believe House Ford who I had great relationship with and believed in honesty is honest as they used to be. I even called another dealership who told me parts were hundred less than house Ford was going to charge me for exact same parts. I think they were up charging and over selling things that didnāt need replaced such as my air filter. I also had service in Fall of 2023 there when they tried to tell me my rear differential needed replacing and I wouldnāt hardly make it 1000 miles because it was on its last leg. 2 days later they told me it was only a vacuum hose issue and fixed it. Still driving the same truck 40K miles later. Just do your homework when visiting there and price shop for work they are asking you about to be done UPDATE: So after writing this review. they did call me back and inquire further why I gave the review I did. I explained to them why. The GM did indicate that in Fall of 2023 several young or newer tech has looked at the issue and the service manager at the time was newer. I explained how that giving a customer a great concern about their vehicle review by a junior tech was probably not a great choice and that possible diagnosis could have been better handled. Advising that our tech just doesn't really know, would have been better than telling me it was the rear differential going out and I may not make it 1000 miles pulling a trailer. The better response would have been - we are going to have the senior more experienced tech review the concern first thing Monday morning and will call and let you know for sure would have been better than worrying all weekend that my rear diff is needing replaced and figuring out I am going to repair or sell the vehicle. Secondly the GM did advise that the oil pan and valve cover issue they were double charging me for parts which was their fault and it was not reviewed by the service advisor I was dealing with. He indicated that yes certain parts were needing to be replaced for March 28th, 2024 service bulletin that was issued for this type of repair. He did ask to see if I would come back and earn their business again. He was going to email me that. I never received it and emailed the GM direct never got a response. I am following up with a call today. It could have been an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI brought my Jeep renegade there in October of 2024. I thought everything was done correctly. I asked them to do the oil change and the 60,000 mi service maintenance. The technician had told me that the front skid plate could not be removed. So he could not do some of the checks. What he didn't tell me, was that those front skid plate had to come off to change the oil filter. And also it has to come off to check pretty much everything on the 60,000 mile check. Like a dummy I paid. I thought everything was good. Until months later I had to go get the oil changed again. I didn't want to pay their prices so I went to a shop. The first shop said we can't do it. Because the skid plate cannot be removed. I thought they were lying because, house ford had had changed my oil. I took it to another shop in town. They said the same thing. There's no way they actually did the complete oil change because that skid plate cannot be removed. I asked what they could do. They said well we can cut the bolts off if you want. I said well I would like to get my oil changed so yes. They cut it off. They changed the oil. Everything went right there. But the numbers on the filter that they removed did not match the numbers on the receipt that I received from house Ford. So I called house Ford. First person acted like I didn't even call them so I had to call back the following Monday. The person I talked to this time was actually the service advisor that set up everything and the person I talked to throughout the process. What he told me was he needed to look into it. Well that was a week ago. I have not heard anything since. I tried to call again today. Somebody took my number like they have the past two times. I have no faith in this actually getting resolved. Stay far away...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have had the pleasure to work with House Ford and the previous Red Wing Ford for nearly 10 years. We moved to House Ford from Fury Motors in St Paul because we followed a Service Advisor that I really liked and trusted. That Service Advisor is John at House Ford.
We love our Jeep. It's a 2012 Grand Cherokee that we bought at Fury, but House is closer to us, we don't have to deal with St Paul traffic - and John is there. We bought the lifetime warranty agreement for the car when we bought it, and although the car has remained fairly trouble free - it's still a car - it still has problems occasionally.
John does a good job of listening to my issues with the car - and keeps me aware of what service issues need to be taken care of. This car is a TOAD behind my Motorhome, and has seen a lot of this country. I need a vehicle - and a service center - that I can trust and shares my interest in keeping my vehicle in top shape. Sometimes, it just takes time to get that accomplished. They have worked with me numerous times, to help keep my deadline for getting the vehicle returned.
Recently, they started doing a video review of the vehicle up on the hoist, looking at many of the normal wear items and looking for issues that need attention.
THANK YOU John, and the House Service Team for all that you do for your costumers. We don't say that often enough, but be certain, all of us that do business with your dealership are very happy that you are here for...
