It’s no more or less expensive than Mercury’s~ pricey for some, but so is everything else in WA 🥰 Love the drink menu— they have rotating seasonal drinks, but the warm atmosphere is what has made me come back again and again. Bakery wise, you can pinpoint where they buy the food, so comparing the prices here vs the source of the items can make the markups seem a little ridiculous— Costco muffins, instant oats, etc., however, I don’t go for the food, so I don’t really care. I also wouldn’t mind spending more for the convenience factor and just to support the business. Overall, the hippie vibe, the friendly atmosphere, the jewelry, the holistic merch, the incense, the patient workers, etc. have me coming back for more! I’m not an astrology girlie, and I’m also not normally into the whole “crystal scene”/cottage core kinda vibe, but I truly just get a good feeling about this place— bonus points: my style has changed many times in the past 6 years I’ve been coming here (basic, gothic, cute, streetwear, sweats, athletic, etc.), but on any given day, whether it looks like I “fit in” there or not, I’ve never felt judged or made to feel unwelcome or out of place, which sounds standard, but unfortunately isn’t always the case in other places in WA with...
Read moreCame in with my wife and baby, ordered a short dirty chai, got a tall. Said I ordered a short. Promptly got a lecture from a green-haired, lady standing cross armed next to me “this isn’t a Starbucks, if you want a short go there” (while my wife and baby watched, baffled). Turns out this righteous aficionado works there. First , I don’t go to Starbucks, I grew up in Seattle, been going to Vivacci, Victrola and Stumptown for 20 years. All, places that make a short (8oz). Also, prior to my high-brow grilling, I had a lovely chat with the cashier about how they only pour doubles, “pull ristretto?” (which are shorter) I guessed, she agreed (most good shops pour ristretto shots). Main point, a ‘short’ (8oz) is a common size at most good coffee shops, and I ordered one because of that, and I can’t drink 12oz of milk. The decent thing would be to just tell me you don’t have short cups, then I’d ask for half a 12oz, or just not care. Chewing me out in-front of my family, after we spent money at your shop is not decent. My wife was really excited to show me the bookstore-coffee shop she loved so much growing up, and I was thrilled to see a chill looking hippie shop in Redmond. What a...
Read moreThis used to be my ride or die coffee shop, but my last two experiences weeks apart from each other were terrible. The first time, employees forgot about my food heating up for 30 minutes as they just talked to each other. Only one other person was there after me and they ended up handing me their food that they had forgotten about, too, telling me that it was mine and handing it directly to me. Got back to work 20min later to see my food was completely wrong, and it was only one item, the only thing I ordered. Told myself I would never go back, but decided to give them another try. Once again, weren’t busy, I learned my lesson, didn’t order food that needed to be heated up. Asked for an iced coffee and a muffin. Got my coffee at a reasonable time, but it was hot and all milk. I also had to ask for my muffin to be handed to me from the cabinet after waiting 15 minutes for it. Love this place, but this kind of service is terrible, especially considering how they are never that busy when I go and clearly just goofing off and forgetting about the food I paid...
