This was my first time choosing and oyster and to get a pearl. You pay $13 and some change for each individual oyster and you have a chance at getting one pearl or the day I was there some had gotten three in one oyster. Once you choose your oyster they open it on the spot for you to see. Once all of the oyster you have chosen are open you are asked to go inside and they evaluate the color, size and appraise the value of the pearl and give you a slip with all the information. You are able to add it to a necklace, ring, etc. for an additional cost. I opted to put one of the pearls on a simple necklace for $26. They tell you to come back in thirty minutes to set in on to the necklace, ring, etc. If you choose not to do they they let you know you have the option to come back at a later date to do so. This was such a fun experience the staff was really nice and for two oysters and necklace it was $59. Remember you are paying for the oysters (approx. 13+ tax ea.) and the additional cost if you choose to set it (price varies) Not the pearls. Great experience would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHighly recommend this shop for a fun family/friend/dating activity. This store is located in Redondo Pier. The store is very closed to the parking structure. Have to purchase parking tickets to park at the parking garage.
Staff is very friendly and welcoming. He explained to me about the company, and their pearl. These are sea water pearls, and they are more valuable than fresh water pearls. The staff handed us the tongs, and we picked an oyster. The staff than opened the oyster for us. This is an exciting process as it is like opening a labubu blindbox that you do not know what you will get. I was very lucky that I scored a double blue/gray pearls. They are very similar in size, and the staff recommended me to make it into a pair of earrings. He is patient and recommended me a setting, and I agreed!
Price is very reasonable, and this is worth the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is a family tradition to open oysters from Kobe and collect the pearls. A few years ago I had enough saved for a necklace. I was worried about how it would look with all the different colors and sizes. They were just as excited as I was and assured me it would be beautiful. They drilled and strung my collection and even put my special pearl that my mom got while pregnant with me next to the clasp so I would always know which one it is. It is by far my most cherished piece of jewelry. I cried when I first saw it. We will continue our tradition and hope to have another made in the future. I absolutely love this company. Missed them at the LA Fair this year but I understand why they probably couldn't show up. Hope to see...
