Starboard Attitude — Restaurant in Redondo Beach

My family has been coming to Redondo for over 30 years. Stopped by here in the past for a drink and to listen to some music. This weekend we were on our way to Tony’s and decided to stop here before. Weren’t even sitting down 5 min and the door man goes up to us and says buy a drink or leave. At first I explained we were waiting for someone friends be he put his hand in my face and said it California law. Unless you purchase something you’ll have to leave. I purchased a two drinks and he came back up to us and said we all had to buy something. Shorty after this the owner walked by and agreed with the old door guy. Very bad experience, and frankly I feel this was a racial thing since we were the only Hispanics in the bar and your door man was only focused on us. We left after all this went down. Had the best time ever! The Like Zeppelin band played for almost the entire four-hour time slot, and rocked the house! Also, the Starboard employees, including Razor and Sarah ensured that every patron received good service and enjoyed their time in the club. Although being my first visit to Starboard Attitude, most of the customers were extremely friendly and sociable, which made me feel right at home. Everyone at the club wanted to have a great time socializing, dancing and enjoying the classical rock music belted out by Like Zeppelin. Finally, I even hit up a new friendship with a fellow rock'n roller, and she and I are now concert partners in crime. It's a great Dive bar, located above Redondo Pier so u have nice view of the ocean. Rayzur & the other bartenders take great care of you & treat you right. They have a nice little stage with really good sound for local bands to perform. Ample sitting area. Crowd is a mixture of locals & newbies. Prices for drinks are very reasonable. I always make a point to stop by when I'm nearby. Afterwards if you're hungry there's plenty of places to eat...
