Redondo Beach Crab House — Restaurant in Redondo Beach

It's on the pier, and the restaurant has some ocean views. First, I like to comment on the tastes of the food I ordered. Deep-fried fish was cooked perfectly, but they had no good dipping sauce, and all they had was ketchup and tabasco, which didn't suit the fish. Garlic butter shrimp, the sauce was excellent, but the thing that bothered me was the shrimp was not fresh, the meat was mushy, and the garlic bread was wonderfully baked. Lastly, steamed lobster came with tabasco sauce and melted butter. The butter was very watery, and I hardly tasted the butter flavor. Again, the restaurant has no other dipping sauce for any of the seafood. The place is a little pricy, and they put a 15% of gratitude mandatory on the bill. I would say tips should be an award for receiving outstanding services. But this restaurant had NO services. You order food at the front, then the server brings the food to your table, and that is it. I couldn't get someone to bring me ketchup, so I had to go to the counter and ask for it. When we dined there, we didn't even get our water refilled. Overall, I wasn't too crazy about the food tastes and was not so happy to pay for the tips without getting...

Been coming to pier over 30yrs & this place since they opened. Yes, the service can get sketchy but over time, got better. You need to tell them immediately for attention, don't allow them to ruin your time their. It's how Asian are, so being American you may not get the service you should. I had to give lecture to Manager & never had bad service again.

Food is phenomenal. See other reviews about frozen crab, but if you order Dungeness then its live from tank. Snow & King crab is always frozen since that is only way they ship from North to south.

They actually own the place in front & the Butter Shrimp has become our new fave. Recommended items: Live Crab, Live Lobster steamed or Sashimi (they will fry the claw & tail leftovers-delicious), Spicy Seafood Soup, Clam Chowder, Spicy Octopus w noodles.

I am super picky eater, and don't write reviews much. But as this us one of my favorite restaurants, I really felt the need to defend some truly bad reviews... Service, yes can be bad, but you can fix that by...

Make America great again .. racism at it's best... came here on mothers day walked in to check menu because quality seafood on the pier was packed. Korean server started putting sticky pads on the menu over all the shrimp ... so i assumed they were out of stock ... no worries i was going to order crab and lobster. Lady immediately said "no u go outside u order outside" . I asked if I order outside can I bring my food in she said no ... that's because nextdoor/ outside ordering is a a different restaurant found out after I walked outside.... so I came back inside the crabhouse and once again she said no u go outside ... so I just left ... didnt expect that from her... and after looking around I see everyone is korean/Chinese.... AND the restaurant is only 30% full ... please avoid this area at all cost unless u want bad service .... I've never written any type of review positive or negative ... but after this experience I hope this restaurant...
