Went to help a friend get a battery for bike; Wouldn’t hold charge; went to return and the ptsd hulk hogan look alike guy behind the counter raised his voice claiming it wasn’t the battery that came in the box and it was a acid filled battery; We had to point to him on the box what it read, it was the same name brand battery in new condition that came out the box. I was so shocked by his tone and attitude like the return came out his paycheck. He also wiggled the screws that we put back in the terminals and didn’t keep as those would have something to do with it when he first inspected it.

10 more seconds of him raising his voice infront of a child behind the counter for whatever bring you kid to work day ; I was going to grab the same battery’s on their shelf open it and show that boomer it’s the same battery. Very unprofessional on his end ; he could of confirmed this by grabbing a new one...

Be aware, they don’t allow you to carry diaper bags around the store. First time going there and will definitely be our last. I completely understand not allowing bags for theft reasons but the guy that approached us was just rude and gave off the wrong vibes. He took our bag to customer service and while we were checking out the older lady that gave us our bag was sarcastic and said “never know, you could of needed that” after seeing that our son was sleeping in his car seat. I understand not everyone brings in diaper bags for quick store runs but as new parents we like to just in case. The rudest non-service experience at Martens! Yep, another Reedsburg Wisconsin business gets only one star! I was shamed and scolded by a young staff woman for using a hand sanitizer at a checkout counter. She actually yanked the bottle out of my hand and yelled at me that the only sanitizer for customers were bottles for purchase. Thing was that the shelves of sanitizer for purchase were empty. Also, unlike other nearby businesses, there were no sanitizer "stations" near the entrance or checkouts. I much prefer Hartje's on Route 58 near LaValle for hardware and paints. They have provided competent, knowledgeable service, which is fortunate, as I will not darken Marten's...
