King and Bunnys Appliances — Local services in Renton

This review has been too long in coming. I first heard of King & Bunny’s from a very trusted coworker of mine whose lived in the south end for all her life. I was faced w/buying a washer and dryer for my new home and all I was finding were front loaders at around $4,000 for a set. I told my Dad for that, I’d wash my clothes in the kitchen sink!!! My coworker told me they never go anywhere for appliances than King and Bunny’s. I try to avoid big box stores at ALL costs, so was eager to check out King and Bunny’s. I walked in, was warmly greeted, and told to let them know if I had any questions. Into the laundry area I went. Soon Scott Eldredge of King & Bunny’s was asking me if what specifics I was looking for – front loading, all the bells & whistles, simple simon, etc. I told him exactly what I wanted - an on and an off switch basically. I don’t need or want all the ‘extras’ and I did NOT want a front-loading washer. I wanted simple to use, durable and reasonably priced. He led me right to a set of Maytags that I ended up buying. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not pushy, and we discussed a few other sets of washer & dryers, but he was right the first time. He listened to what I wanted, led me straight to it, out the door for around $1,000 for the set (keep in mind this was several years prior to this review). A few days later, King & Bunny professionals delivered my set, set them up and they’ve been running w/o incident for years.

Fast forward to December 2022. After 14 years, my Kenmore Elite refrigerator begins to develop ice on the floor of the freezer. I chip it out, but the next day it’s back. I know exactly where to go! At King and Bunny’s, Jason greeted me. I told him the situation and that I was looking to replace my refrigerator, rather than put $ into a repair. Due to supply chain issues, they couldn’t even ORDER what I want…. He listened to the symptoms, diagnosed it and told me where I could find information to fix it myself and how much it would cost to have a professional fix my clogged defrost drain. I asked him if my current refrigerator was worth just keeping once I had the drain corrected. He listened to the make, model and age of it and said, “It’s served you well. I’d suggest replacing it once you can to avoid an unfortunate incident later when it goes out completely.” He gave me his card, told me when to call him when he thought what I want may be able to be ordered again. I had the clogged defrost drain fixed and called him a few months later as he indicated. They’re still not able to be ordered, BUT someone had ordered exactly what I wanted before the manufacturer stopped taking orders. It had finally arrived and that person back out. Jason suggested if I wanted it to jump on it! I did!!! The delivery arrival time was 9-9:15 am on a Friday. At 9:00 my doorbell rang, a very nice gentleman delivered it, set it up, and hauled my old one away. I let King & Bunny’s know that my old one was quite clean and working, so if they’d like to keep ahold of it as a loaner if someone needed it to please do. Turns out, they donate working appliances to those in need. That made me happy as I hated to trash a working appliance. I just didn’t want an unexpected fail later due to its age.

Once again, King & Bunny’s comes through w/flying colors. I’m w/my now retired coworker on this one. I won’t buy my appliances from anyone else either! Thank you Jason and team for providing customer service that’s all but extinct in today’s world. You’re...

If you want FAST, Personal, Courteous and Knowledgeable Service King and Bunny's Appliances is the place to come! I think King and Bunny's is definitely a cut above the rest. Home Depot, Sears,Lowe's all are good stores, don't get me wrong... But honestly there isn't anything like personal one on one service in a local Family Owned Business! They even answered their phone (NO RECORDINGS, NO PUSH THIS OR THAT NUMBER to get to a LIVE person). There prices were the same if not BETTER than the larger businesses. But you can't put a price on the FAST, PERSONAL SERVICE they supply. I ordered my Maytag Washer and Dryer on a Friday morning and by that afternoon they were delivered to my home and installed! Very impressive. That may not be the case all the time as a cancellation happened to come in when we were speaking and they offered me the opportunity. They were actually scheduling me for NEXT day service! BONUS, with the cancellation! Randy and his partner delivered my washer/dryer and they even did a SUPER JOB! Friendly, personable guys that were VERY careful removing my old appliances, bringing my new ones in and installing them. Peter, my sales rep. even followed up with a phone call Friday evening to make sure all was going well and to check and make sure I was satisfied with my service and to answer any questions I may have. It’s been 17 months since I purchased KitchenAid microwave/ Oven combo, dishwasher, refrigerator and range top from K&B. Approximately $12K. In one week I’ve had an issue with my refrigerator door seal that cost me $210 in parts and $30 to a handy man to install because I was 5 months off warranty. Today my microwave stopped working, making a ticking sound and so I called again and was told again I was 5 months off warranty and they didn’t think Whirlpool (who owns KitchenAid) would assist in anyway but he could call, again saying I doubt they will assist since it’s off warranty. He gave me a name of a repair place with an estimated house call cost of $180. When I choose to do a major remodel I decided to only use independent local businesses. The purchase part of my my transaction and installation went very well however I’m disappointed 17 months later that I’m already spending money to keep these appliances running. On top of this I am only in this home 50% of the time and I live alone, so they are not over used appliances....
